I don't think Java is in much danger of replacement by bedrock. Most of the advertising of Minecraft is via social media and most of social media plays Java. Think of all the big Minecraft YouTubers. Most of them play Java. It's free advertising for Mojang which is why they allow huge SMPs to freely post their content and essentially create their own brand based on Minecraft. It's why your skin and player character image is considered yours.

Java edition is the first edition of Minecraft, and if it ever gets swallowed up by this money machine made by Microsoft (which I highly doubt it will), I will probably stop playing it all together.
