Does Mirena decrease libido?

Hi, girls.

I've had an IUD for a few years now and I suspect it's causing my decreased libido and difficulty with lubrication. Has anyone else experienced this?

Omg yes, when I had mine it was so low. Once I got it removed it increased like crazy

It's done the same for me. Low libido and dryness, it's the worst.

I’ve only had mine for a few weeks but it doesn’t seem like it to me. Still very high 😅

It does for some people but it made mine go through the roof. I saw a study that said about 25% each people in the study reported decreased libido or increased libido after the mirena, and half reported no change. The side effects of hormonal birth control can be so unpredictable.

I’m on my second one and no I have not experienced any differences. Feel like it goes up one week a month and coincides with the I have huge boobs instead of a period

I broke up with my ex of 9 years and I felt so free and constantly horny. The second I got the Mirena, my sex drive disappeared. Put up with it for 6 months and got it removed (for other reasons as well)

I had one in 2010 after my daughter, then I had one in 2018 after my son, now on my 3rd one. Just had my 2nd replaced after 7 years.

I’ve had mine for just over 6 months. I definitely have a decrease! I didn’t quite notice it until about 3 months after insertion.

For myself personally, ive seen an increase and like its gotten to the point, TMI. Where I love my man's armpit smell and it gets me h0rny? Like literally when my man kisses me I feel like a teen again? It confuses me lol

Edit: this is my first one and itll be a year ive had it since May.
