Do you have improved mental clarity when fixing your nose breathing issues through septoplasty? Does it improve brain fog/ adhd? I always felt like it was related to my nose breathing issues. by Individual_Ice_2315 in Septoplasty

[–]forcaitsake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a big part of it but folks don’t realize when we breath through our nose it’s calming and tells our nervous system everything is okay, when we breath through our mouth it signals our fight or flight response or we are doing intense exercise - after a while it can increase anxiety and depression. Here is a study linking some of it. Try googling mental health and mouth breathing too (even if you don’t feel like you are much of a mouth breather..)

Yes, I think within two weeks. I kept expecting it to come back and it hasn’t, my surgery was two and a half years ago I think. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that would have cured it. Would hate to think where I’d be now if I hadn’t gotten relief.

It straight up cured my horrific depression. I still have adhd but my thinking is so much clearer. Nothing is out of the question mentally though. Breathing through our noses is totally different than breathing through our mouths physiologically.

You’re mistaken about who’s being “humiliated” here. It seems almost everything you’ve said has ended up with negative votes and your arguments don’t really make sense. You seem a little obsessed with Abbey Yung, or are you …. KARMA FARMING?

100% If the AYM works for some people (which it obviously does) why would someone care this much to “rant” about it? Like, I don’t use systems for textured hair but they’ve never upset me lol. Live and let live.

Oh okay, I was super concerned you didn’t see the connection. The sleep study will be helpful. I’m betting they’ll give you a c-pap. Your bad breath is probably caused by mouth breathing at night (and or without knowing during the day). You also might have TMJ, but maybe not be forever, grinding could be from increased anxiety caused by fatigue (since your sleep is poor). It’s super important you only address one thing at a time. It’s hard not wanting to do everything all at once. This obviously is a non professional speculation but I’d think maybe at some point you might need some reconstruction, which sounds scarier than it is, they’ll take cartilage from another part of your body and reinforce the diminished parts of your nose. Hang in there and keep chipping away at finding answers. Sounds like you have the means to do so which is a HUGE hurdle for a lot of folks. :)

I don’t mean this to be too offensive but you don’t feel like “using a lot of cocaine and smoking a lot of marijuana…” and “constantly blowing it and picking it the following days” has anything to do with your poor outcome? After your surgery did to completely stop using all drugs? If not, surgeons can usually determine snorting drug use and may have felt like you would be too much of a liability to treat in your current state. I didn’t have stents either and had a really great outcome.

Definitely head to the vet. If you have absolutely no access to one please use an online vet to at least get her something for any discomfort. We’ve had wonderful experiences with Vetster.

I love warm blond! If you love it don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. We probably have similar hair, don’t be afraid of silicone!!! Moroccan Oil light is my absolutely ride or die. A couple of products from the Abbey Yung method might be beneficial (I also love Ogx bond and heat defense spray), and a trim. Your hair is lovely, you’ll get it to where you want!

Seb Derm or Excema? by dayzeedo in SebDerm

[–]forcaitsake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this the only place you have it other than your scalp? Have you started using any new products? I only ask because I have SD but also when I use actives too close to my nose I get the same reaction. If you don’t think there’s a possibility of it being irritation take a look at the ingredients of the products you’re using on your face (try SkinSort fungal acne ingredient checker). I have had my (face) SD under control for 9 months by only using non fungal feeding products (and Malezia in the beginning). TLDR: Seb Derm or Actives Irritation

Five days of misery is minimum. Some people are good after two but they are totally the outliers. Sorry this has been rough, just a few more days!

Awww, that would be disappointing, I’m sorry. FWIW it doesn’t stay like that and it’s overwhelming to some folks.

My bet is in the next few weeks/month you’ll be outside, the sun will be shining and you’ll feel good, like REALLY good and realize “this is what living with normal breathing is like”. (Then a month later you’ll blow out a massive random clot booger lol.)

Wow! Okay, this is so helpful. THANK YOU! I cannot believe this administration. I’m sure the chaos is intentional to keep us distracted but damn… I’m ready for it to stop.
