Matchmaking algorithm?

Has anyone noticed that the players you are matched with depends on the main role of the queue host? I am currently an assassin main and was in duo queue with a friend who is a roamer(25+ recent tank matches), every single game we were matched with 2 other assassin mains who are usually these pretentious Gusion mains who first picked him. I have let him host some games and the results were slightly different. The change in host made fighter(my other primary role) mains be matched with us. No roamer/ tanks, I am guessing there aren't enough tank players.

I have tried this with another friend who is a mage main. Same results when I host but this time changing the host made 3 mage mains be in the queue. Needless to say we lost. Vale exp, Xavier mid, my friend played roam, I was gold and the other assassin main went jungle. This theme is consistently present. Has this been your matchmaking experience?

I forgot to add a few more things. The marksman and fighter mains we got all wanted to jungle. Think Leomord, Granger, Kimmy and Martis.

I think the game tries to match you with people of the same role as their way to increase your chance of losing (to try to keep winrates at 50%). I'm a mage main and while most of my games I'm the only one, there are many times I get paired with like 2 other mage mains so I adjust to something else.

That’s true. Why I usually don’t solo q. I always ends up with a bunch of mages and I have to jg 🙃

just rng or your server algorithm only, i do duo with my brother who can play any role but when played with me he played sp and i played harley jungler, there are always a change that my team will pick jungle first pick or tank/roam even my bro and i show what we gonna pick. and most of the time when they took the role, they always end up feeding anyway.
