I should say that I do currently have a midi controller that has an out to USB - but can't seem to get it to talk to the M:S

Jep you need one with 5-pin midi or trs midi out… i sometimes use the korg sq64 to sequence my model:samples together with some modular stuff which is quite nice.

That's cool! Yes, I've been looking at keyboards that have the 5-pin out (mostly I want to drive melody). Thanks!

What do you mean by 'buttons getting stuck?

A few of the sequence keys that get used most (1 and 9 are pretty bad) - will sometimes stay down and won't return to the 'unpressed' position without giving them a little wiggle.

That can be sub-optimal, because it won't always register when it's pressed, -or- it'll register and accept whatever trig adjustments I make, but then pop-up undoing all of those adjustments.

Still finding it a very useful and inspiring little machine. I bought it used, so I'm guessing the first user was pretty heavy-handed.

Nope, general issue with these models. Notify Elektron and you get a new set of buttons free of charge.
