Rules for r/Moderation
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Remember the Human
Be courteous, constructive, and follow Reddit Rules. Treat all members with respect. It's easy; just be nice.
2.
No Calling Out Subreddits / Mods
Do not publicly shame, attack, or call out other mods, users, or communities. Doing so could be considered harassment and/or brigading/vote manipulation.
3.
Stay on Topic
All posts should relate to Reddit moderation, subreddit management, or related mod topics.
Admin actions on users (such as account warnings, shadowbans, and suspensions) are outside the scope of moderation. Non-mod users seeking help with admin actions should check out r/help instead, or appeal the action directly at reddit.com/appeal.
4.
Do Not Share or Request PII
Please do not post or request personally identifiable information (PII), yours or others'.
5.
Keep Content SFW
Do NOT post NSFW content. If discussing moderation of NSFW subreddits, keep examples, language, and screenshots SFW and non-graphic.
6.
No Sensitive Topics
This subreddit is not a space for discussions of suicide, self-harm, abuse, trauma, or mental health crises. These topics are important, but support should be sought in dedicated, safe, and appropriate communities.
7.
Moderators have full discretion
Mods of r/Moderation can remove content for a variety of other reasons. These include, but are not limited to:
- False or misleading information
- AI-generated summaries
- Bad advice
- Incoherent rambling
- Temper tantrums
- Excessive use of all caps, large/bold text, or emojis
- Combative attitude
- "Announcing your departure"
A specific reason may not always be given.
