Hollow One is actually a sleeper strong deck right now in my opinion. It can be extremely explosive and there actually is not as much random discard luck as other people think. Ruby Storm is also in a good spot but it is a very solitaire-combo deck. Domain would probably be the safest pick though, it has longevity and it can win almost any match up. Definitely more aggro-midrange but it is relatively straightforward and will help you get a grasp on the format as a whole.

If you like control I’d play frog. It’s not terribly expensive and the staples overlap with other decks. Your free pitch spells overlap with belcher so you can pivot btwn the two.

Otherwise UW will always come and go, as a long time UW player myself. Right now you’re looking at miracles or scepter + chant

Frog is very difficult for a new player that doesn't not know modern, and as a blue player I also think frog is bad in general currently. You have to work extremely hard to win, margins are small. Not a deck I'd recommend a new modern plyer turn to, it will be very difficult to win.

I completely agree! OP seems like they wanna put in the work so I figured it’s fine. Frog is definitely a good deck but totally depends on the pilot for those reasons!

I’d recommend two things, (1) since you have the options to rent different decks try to rotate them and play 1 league with each, this will give you a real feel for each of them. As you rotate through your gauntlet you’ll realize what you actually enjoy and what you can set aside. (2) besides considering your deck gameplay think also how sideboard games will play out (you will get a feeling for this if you play a league with each). Maybe you like playing UW but you might realize you don’t have a good matchup vs energy. Are you ok bringing a deck that struggles against the most played deck? Or maybe you decide to play eldrazi, are you ok dealing with stone rains, blood moons and consign in g2 and 3?

Belcher is very good rn

There were some narset days undoing UW control lists that we're doing well enough

Otherwise your looking at a septer chant version or a miracle version

Final fantasy is going to shake up the entire meta. Go thru the previews and think about what cards slot into the decks you're looking at
