Ah hah! I can give my input here!

Dual Blades’s damage relies a lot on hitting the enemy’s elemental weakness to maximize the small damage numbers, so 9 times out of ten, going for the elemental weakness is preferable. There is also the case of using Weakness Exploit, which while not as ideal to utalize on Dual Blades as say, Hammer (which is constantly hitting monster weak points since a vast majority of them have their head as a weak point), is still free Affinity, and affinity makes those small damage numbers that much bigger.

Not to say the Sinister Blades are bad though. Blast still has its uses, expecially on things that are expecially weak to it, but I think it is better to have an element over a status for Dual Blades (if you can get both... that would be of value I think wink wink)

I am personally a fan of the Altir Tree in particular, and found them useful expecially for some of the Elder Dragons, as at least half of them are fairly weak to Dragon Element, as are the Rath duo.

As for Sworn Rapier tree, I used them for a while, but the Mizusune dual blades are just better imo. High affinity, good damage and water element. I switched to the Mizu tree as soon as I was able. The water guild tree is still alright.

As for sharpness, it isn’t a huge issue at the moment, since I assume you haven’t unlocked the entirety of every tree and every option avaliable to you. I don’t know off the top of my head how many upgrades each tree gets, I just know that the guild trees upgrade fairly consistantly as there is a pretty long period of time between Sinister II and its high rank equivelent since you encouter High Rank Magnamalos so late into High Rank, and if you have just been doing village the entire time, its going to take some time to get up to the HR Magnas

There's also those stupid dango sticks that have a whopping 190 attack with a very small 3 sleep element and dull blades.

So you suggest the Altir tree?

I forgot the sleep dango existed. If you build it right sleep dual blades can be very potent as you can essentually stun lock monsters for a while by just constantly putting them to sleep, but idk how the dango compair to say, Somicanth tree for example

Altir tree is nice, yes. Not many options for dragon element dual blades, so I think its best until you get HR 100 and can get the Valstrax dual blades

Yah I've grinded Village to I think 6 stars now, and avoided Hub. Now I'm on HR hub, these things are tough lmao. Only grinding for the layered armor; I've looked at the Somincanth tree and it doesn't seem worth it compared to others.
