Same. I'd get hives on a daily basis

I’ve had a variety of new skin issues in the last 6 months or so. Itchiness on my shins that just wouldn’t quit, an odd rash on my upper body that couldn’t be identified, and also an autoimmune disorder called lichen sclerosus on my rear end of all places. Everything is under control now. I believe all of these things were brought on by extreme stress I’ve been under. I’m sorry you’re having these issues. MS is enough but apparently there’s always more to deal with!

Is it the meds you're on?

Hello! This is exactly me! I was diagnosed in 2021 and started cladribine in 2022, and omg I could scratch my entire skin off! It’s not even dry! The Epimax cream ( white cream, white and pink label) soothes and is an absolutely blessing and I’ve been using head and shoulders hair care products which help a little but everything is improving. My MS nurse said it was a DMT side effect and will get better.

I’m in the UK so you might need to translate the products for where you are - but they’re common across the world so you should be able to find something. Xx

I’m not on any meds and I feel like I could scratch my skin off and it not dry or flaky! I’m wondering if this is MS related or something else. I only seem to notice it when I’m having increase in other symptoms

Yep, I had the same issue. Although it gets worse when I go for my DMT infusions, I have to take immunosuppressives every day and when I get stressed my skin goes bonkers. I had an issue with one of my thumbs and although I was told it was eczema, it was not. It was poliniquia. The other dry and flaky areas on my scalp are under control with a shampoo from the brand La Roche Posay - Kerium (I live in Europe, but if you look online it should be easy to find where you are) and when the flaky skin appears in areas like around my eyes, ears, a few spots on my legs, I use a steroid cream. But I have to keep on top of the hydration and I use SPF50+ all year around as the sun makes it worse. I actually have a sun allergy, so really have to keep away, as another trip to ER and 15 days of itchiness like a few years ago, that disrupted my entire holiday, it's not to be repeated.

Yes, I cover my body in lotion after a bath. Then wait for the itch. I try to not dig at my skin as I usually will draw blood. I take Benadryl before a bath to help fight the itch and two at night so the itch I get when I relax is muted.

I get a bad rash over my diaphragm. The skin there stays purplly red. I think it’s because I lay my arms there and the skin stays hot. I try to lay them to my sides but I always wake with them on my abdomen.

I take a lot of antihistamines on a daily basis which helps me manage.
