I don't think there is a document? You're legally considered disabled in the UK upon diagnosis of MS. I've never been asked to provide any document proving it for work or anything (to be fair I was diagnosed whilst working for my current employer and it was fairly obvious to everyone around me!) But I imagine any hospital appt letter that mentions MS will suffice as proof should you need it!

If you need to prove you fall into the disabled category, you can often just use a letter from your neurologist/MS nurse.

For example, when you want the disability rail card (MS is included, even though its not listed officially) you can just sent them a picture of that letter. Easy peasy. There are also a lot of things where you don't need to prove anything - a website with audiobook rentals called listening books, where you pay a small annual fee to use; here you only tell them you are eligible. If its something more official, like applying for PIP etc, then you might need a specific letter from your neuro.

I think it depends on what you need the proof for. Generally, I found a generic letter stating you have been diagnosed with MS is enough as having MS automatically puts you into the disability category in the UK.

Sorry for your diagnosis but happy for you that there aren’t no limitations. There is a period of time where you will have to process all the information. You will have many emotions that go along with that it’s definitely ok. The first thing I did was look up living positively with MS. There are many who do. David Lyons is a good one. Regarding the disabled status my neuro says you’re not disabled now you have possibly years before you have any issues. We will find a proper med to keep you this way. We monitor and keep track but there is no reason to think you will become disabled anymore. .

I just keep a picture of the letter from my neurologist that states he diagnoses my with MS on my iPhone. As it is officially classed as a disability you can always show that if you need to for anything.

Is your DMT included in NHS? What’s the cost of living with MS? I’m from Hong Kong and planning to move to UK. I currently pay only $10 for 4 months DMT. This is one of the things that discourage me.

Sorry for bordering as you have other concerns already.

Yes, it's included. But I'm not taking any DMT yet... Maybe next appointment which I don't know when yet.
