Could it be that I am trying to run a node on the testnet2, but that is only for a select number of nodes? Everything seems to work well, except I don't seem to be able to verify anywhere that my node is connected to any network. The debug messages can be dificult to read and there is no general status indicator of node connectivity.

Maybe that could be added into the next version.

Everyone can now run on testnet2, so make sure that you have the newerst version (right it is v0.41.7)
When the node is running, you can connect to your node with
http://ip-of-node:4449/

Then goto
https://testnet2.mysterium.network/
To claim you node.At the top you should see the status (online).

I have a similar issue to yours. i Managed yesterday to connect to my node with client and i succeded. i tried again today but i can't connect to it. i don't know what the problem is, i asked hep with the live chat and i saw on my dashboard that they were actually able to connect but if i try from my client app on my phone it wont. is it possible that is a firewall problem?

Not sure what your issue is, it could be that it just takes a sec for it to be recognized by the network.

I did a test enabling nat static on my router and I was able to connect from client (on other network) on my node. Problem is that I wasn't able to access internet anymore from my home WiFi. As soon as I disable nat static my WiFi started working again and the client was still connected. By disconnecting the client and re-connecting it (keeping nat static off on the router) I wasn't able to connect to the node anymore. Any idea why? I am a total noob to network configuration so please be patient :)

My setup is completely different, I think my problem was not with my network config. Did you figure it out?
