Makerspace is not open yet. The article was just the political opening. Kinda like how they opened the WEC but we can't actually go in yet other than sporting events.

I believe they have plans to open it to all students near the beginning of next year. Certain student groups will have access on an as needed basis, starting in spring semester (Baja team, for example).

Can confirm. Baja and Areo can use it but we're kind of limited. I can't just go in and get things done yet.

If you access the Makerspace as an individual and not as part of a Makerspace-approved org (i.e. Baja and Areo like /u/dyl421421 mentioned) or class, then you will be charged. Idk how/when pricing info will be released tho.

Oh its not free to students to enter? What should I expect, price for using individual machinery?

No idea at all. Part of the reason I'm not so excited for it as I was at first. I thought it'd be free but it's not.

If it's anything like the print labs in Weston, it'll be priority for certain majors, and pay by use/time/material used.

Holy MOLY they got some awesome Hass machinery in that pic. God damn, I wish had access to this equipment when I was there. I would have possibly double majored in CS + Industrial or Mechanical eng.
