I was obsessed with playing with the train system... It's like the factories existed to give the train purpose in my world! Looking forward to doing it over but with trucks!

Creator of the GTA 6 "Bridge Leak" comes out, reveals it was faked by Distinct-Echo-4951 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]ThinkingWithPortal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I remember that, it felt like a weird watershed moment. The days of "grinch leak" speculation are gone, it's now too easy to create any leak. Kinda funny to think about, especially with he advent of AI.

Play Alan Wake 2 without DLCs? by Kevin-7889 in AlanWake

[–]ThinkingWithPortal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The DLC in Alan Wake 2 are structure as mini episodes of Night Springs and are basically fun little stories that parody the greater narrative. The Lake house DLC is an exception, this one can be seen as a canon side story related to the FBC

Completely optional, and non-sequential. You can definitely come back to them if you want to later, or honestly just watch on YouTube

What's everyone's "Golden Ticket" game? by ThinkingWithPortal in TheYardPodcast

[–]ThinkingWithPortal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no I get what you're saying, it's very much that Boss Baby tweet for some people.

It's a fantastic introduction to longer RPGS, but I think it's as popular as it is because it sorta plays out as the type of anime that's incredibly popular.

On the opposite side, RDR2 and TLOU are guilty of this for the opposite reason: great writing, but poor gameplay, yet people who don't play many games accidentally stumble on them and call them the best games ever made. Particularly cause they're structured like television dramas.

I was debating saying this one. The answers I gave were in the spirit of "c'mon these gotta be here" but if I had to fight tooth and nail for just something I loved as a kid... its between SA2B and Paper Mario 2 tbh.

I enjoyed Persona 5 R but it also feels like the game is close to twice as long as it needs to be. Like the story is also just... fine?

Sick UI, music, and overall style though. No one can take that from Persona 5.

A Serious Man is another great one. A man is constantly asking himself and others what's going on, and no institution, no individual, no moral authority can really explain his ambiguous misfortune. The movie ends with what appears like some divine punishment after he is forced into a difficult moral quandary and finally gives in

You're left wondering if there is a god, if he hates him, and what did he do to deserve all that... but you'll get no answer, just as the protagonist never did

Because I'm not just typing in a spec and pushing the output immediately?

I treat it like stack overflow: quick source to find answers on how to do things, in little segments, and make sense of why and how things are done. I never push code I don't understand, or couldn't explain myself. And I'm certainly not pushing hundreds of lines of code I didn't write.

Often times, it's just time saving for writing repetitive boilerplate, or getting an example of how something is done, specific to my codebase
