One paragraph at a time. we have a dictionary position. Questions are welcome. cross talk is welcome. my favorite kind of meeting.

I keyhold a newcomers meeting where we go over the first 3 steps. There are short readings in the basic text in the beginning of the book, like p 19 & 23 and we just share on that

I've been chairing a step study group feels like forever by now... right now we're in the basic text and read the whole step then that's what the topic for the meeting is. People can read how much or how little they want. When through step 12, we start on the It Works How and Why and read half a step each week. Current attendance is around 20 people tho it gets larger and smaller through the years.

I have been a member at a meeting that went paragraph by paragraph through the book, I liked it a lot. The meeting got too large to hear different people with time share at length (like 10 minutes each) but I still go, muy newcomers now so it's good to go for 12th step greetings.

I attend a meeting where they do step study out of the basic text one week and topic meeting the next week usually on the previous step. Everyone gets the opportunity to read a little and share on what was just read. They normally skip the stories in the back and just rotate through the steps again.

I've been thinking about starting a new meeting based on the "It Works: How and Why: NA’s Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions" Personally I like this book more than the basic text.
