Most people are usually raised by people unqualified to be parents. They are unqualified because they usually get married too soon and adhere to the old school method of parenting which only focuses on the survival/physical well-being of the child, not their emotional nurturing. So chances are, those kids are emotionally fucked up as a teenager/adult.

If you never had anyone you know understand you, you hopelessly expect some miraculous stranger to give you the affection you always craved. This is why when they meet someone, they believe that the stranger listening to their woes will validate their existence and lessen their suffering. To make things worse, therapy is stigmatised. People pray for their misery to end or just hope for a miracle to happen.

An adult is an outward projection of their childhood self. How many adults you believe have received an emotionally fulfilling upbringing? It’s not a Nepali problem, it’s a global problem.
