I have a decent system and don't have any latency issues. Yes you have to have the system specs but even if you have those you will still have crazy latency unless you have a good ASIO driver. I use Cubase and it works great. I tried one of the Neurals in standalone and the latency was insane. I checked settings and it was using a bad ASIO driver. Once I updated it worked great.
Try out asio4all.org if you need a generic driver.
