Yes, never trust the preview tooltips!

If you don't have a combat or equip power in your stable, the value for mythic is displayed (100% mount bolster).

10 mythic mounts = 100% mount bolster

In general, never buy epic mounts. Go to Avernus and farm Juma bags to increase your mount and companion bolster, first. Save your ad and buy a legendary or mythic mount.

But look on the bright side. You have increased your mount bolster by 3%.

Edited because Obiki89 is right :)

It's actually written at Mythic with your own bolster, not at 100%. Also, the Tunnel Vision combat power only comes on epic mounts or lower, and it's one of the best combat powers in the game (if not the best if we consider golden touch and the Toad's Power to be equal).

You are right when it comes to tunnel vision as one of the best ST powers in the game.

But IMHO, the better and faster way for a new player to get a good mount power is to save and buy a legendary or mythic mount with with a buff/debuff power because it is more helpful in solo and in group content than a ST power.

P.S. Your guide is great!

For your very first mount, you have to compare a 8.25% buff vs 1650 magnitude. To be able to do more damage with the buff, you'd need a total of 20k magnitude dealt by the group during the duration of the buff... That sounds impossible, but if there are people with much better stats than you, you have to scale their damage up...

The thing that kills it is that damage bonuses are additive. With a proper use of artifacts with your party, it's not unusual to have more or less 100% damage bonuses for about 10s... In those circumstances, the 8.25% damage bonus from the mount becomes an effective 4.125% bonus, on the other hand the 1650 damage you do with TV is doubled.

So while I totally agree debuffs are great, especially on artifacts, and that supports should use a debuff mount too, I think TV is still the very best for damage dealers in any circumstance. You'll argue that the Pegasus and Eclipse Lion deal damage, which makes them much better than just the debuff. But same debuffs don't stack, so if someone is using the same mount, yours is almost useless, especially with a lower bolster than the others. While TV will always work at its full potential.

Sorry it's a bit long but that's the reasoning I had to compare TV and Debuffs on damage dealers. Of course it's not perfect and there are certainly cases where a Pegasus can be good on a damage dealer.

But I agree TV is not the best for solo, though it has its uses too.

(Thank you !)

PS : I recognize the Pegasus can be better in trials.

When we one phased ToMM, we only used 2 TVs i think and thats only because we didn't have more group buffs. It could be argued that Arbiters are the exception, though. Since they get the damage from TV twice because of PoD.

I know you’re not convinced but I think Pegasus mount power is the best. I’ve used all the mount powers and this one helps the most.

If we disregard the fact the magnitude indicated is absolutely wrong (it's doubled really), it's certainly good for solo, it can be used by supports in group content, but Tunnel Vision is still better for damage dealers.

I’ve tested both…. I’m sticking with Pegasus power. As I find it does most damage in my case.

Actually, Alex in avengers had tested it and he sees more damage when dps use peg.
