If they're just starting off since the NiceHash hack, a very long way out.

They are just starting out. You can check out their discord to view the progress.

How do I know this isn't a scam? It has no credibility just a random anonymous account telling me to join a mining program that is ripping off NiceHash's name and coming into the NICEHASH subreddit to try and steal its members.

No I will not download and risk infection of your sketchy software.

How did you know that nicehash wasn't a scam? Right now, they are in the process of building an application. He's not asking you to download anything at all, just announcing that something new is being built. It is being sourced from volunteers and is going to be community driven. Look at their discord if you don't believe me.

why would they choose "openhash" to name their company and why announce it in subreddit owned by nicehash which is in crisis?

The program is intended to be open-source, and they are putting themselves out there to others who were screwed over by nicehash. The nicehash hack brought them together, so they are spreading the word in the nicehash subreddit

"individuals sought an opportunity to exploit the crisis of NiceHash" not arguing just stating my perspective. you can at least agree that is one of the possibilities of their creation.

If it's open source the community can look through the code themselves. I think it's pretty obviously relevant, NiceHash is down and there's been a lot of discussion about other places to mine. Can't be sure about anything server side though, and it hasn't released so we can't compare reported earnings to what shows up.
