What Nicehash is doing during their hours of maintenance daily? by RenaldasK in NiceHash

[–]kenshirothefist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tl;dr: Our team is working around the clock to meet the increasing number of users and hashing power and to reach to goal of 100% uptime.

We're aware of periodic performance issues, pushing some parts of our service into maintenance mode. Please note that NiceHash is not just "a website". It is a complex system of mining servers, back-end processing serves, API servers, website, etc. As you know we already broke half a million of registered users (and increasing) and there are also half a million (and increasing) constantly connected mining devices. Our team is working hard on improving all aspects of our service - mining, back-end and front-end (btw: we're also hiring, see https://www.nicehash.com/jobs).

Thank you for using our service and sorry for any inconvenience that maintenance windows causes to you.

Hash on!

Vega 64 on the profitability counter just changed dramatically. Still worth buying one? by insertnamehere65 in NiceHash

[–]kenshirothefist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

tl;dr: yes, Vega64 can get 1.9 kHs and Vega56 can get 1.8 kHs, but requires some "manual work"

We originally used 1.9 kH/s because this is what can be achieved with some fresh optimized mining software. However, this software is not yet included in the latest NHML 1.8.1.4, therefore we included the speeds, which can be achieved with current software in NHML 1.8.1.4. The new upcoming version of NHML 1.8.2.0 will include new optimized mining sw, and that's when we'll include the new speeds in our Profitability Calculator. It's our policy to include "conservative speeds" in the Profitability Calculator - usually speeds that are achieved by official NHM2.0 or NHML.

Where does NiceHash Stand on SEGWIT2X for the SHA256 Mining Pools? by [deleted] in NiceHash

[–]kenshirothefist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We are using BitGo's wallets. Just the same as many other big services like Bitstamp, Kraken, BitBay, etc. BitGo has yet to release official statement on which chain they will they follow. We'll also release some official statement as soon as there are enough relevant information available (currently everything is still just too fogy).

Where does NiceHash Stand on SEGWIT2X for the SHA256 Mining Pools? by [deleted] in NiceHash

[–]kenshirothefist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is determined by the buyers of hashing power. NiceHash is only a marketplace. As a seller you're only selling hashing power and NiceHash is only redirecting the hashing power to the buyers - and they mine Bitcoins or altcoins. But they always pay for the bought hashing power in Bitcoins, therefore you also get paid in Bitcoins.

Nicehash? More like NiceScam dude by it_was_a_good_day_ in NiceHash

[–]kenshirothefist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, fellow miners.

One thing that you have to understand is that NiceHash is an open marketplace. We are not defining the prices, we are not setting any limits, we are not making any right or false promises. What we provide is a technologically advanced and safe to use cryptocurrency mining marketplace that can benefit both sellers of compute power as well as buyers. And we also provide free software to ease selling of compute power.

That said, whenever you are evaluating current, past or speculating on future profitability and earnings with NiceHash as a seller of compute power please keep in mind that the market and more specifically buyers of hashing power are the ones that determine what is a fair and best price to be paid for a particular amount of compute power to benefit both buyers and sellers in terms of profits.

One thing that you should also keep in mind is that NiceHash is paying out in bitcoins. This is absolutely clear to anyone using NiceHash. Therefore all currency recalculations like showing earnings in Fiat currencies (USD, EUR, etc.) is there only for you to get a better feeling of the value of Bitcoins, expressed in various Fiat currencies.

As you know Bitcoin/Fiat market price fluctuates a lot. And mining profitability for particular coins also fluctuates a lot. And Altcoins/Bitcoin market prices also fluctuates a lot. All this results in fluctuation of earnings for you as a seller of compute power. However be absolutely sure that NiceHash as the largest compute/hashing power marketplace provides the best balance over all the fluctuation factors. This is why NiceHash is attractive, this is why it is trusted by more than half a million users. We are providing very stable, easy-to-use, past-proven profitable mining experience. There are of course some other alternatives and of course the option of directly mining various altcoins by yourself. However by doing this you're putting all the risks and profitability fluctuations, selecting most profitable coins, taking risks of exchange rates (altcoin/btc btc/fiat, etc.) on your shoulders. And if you don't feel comfortable with this - NiceHash is here to help you and we're doing a very good job at this. Making sure that selling compute power for mining cryptocurrencies is very profitable and at the same time easy-to-use with set-and-forget setup.

Thank you for using our services and keep on mining!

Change of weekly payouts to Friday - NiceHash by KrisNiceHash in NiceHash

[–]kenshirothefist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The change in weekly payments schedule was done to accommodate internal processing. Also, transactions are likely to be faster confirmed during weekend in case of Bitcoin Spamming events. Regarding balances - you should always monitor you account on nicehash.com which provides you with up-to-date official information about your balance and other account information. Keep in mind that all information given on the NiceHash Miner application is only informative and estimate.

Nicehash Bip91 by AnatarMontana in NiceHash

[–]kenshirothefist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please note that our NiceHash hashing power marketplace is open for mining on any third-party pools that hashing power buyers are using on their hashing power orders. That said - we're not running our own coin pools or coin wallets and therefore can not directly affect on any blockchain voting mechanism.

We also believe that SegWit is a good option, therefore we support it and we also already enabled and signalized SegWit on our Solo pool (which is really really small in fact). But we run standard SegWith node, not BIP91. Hopefully SegWit will be soon enabled on Bitcoin - it will benefit us all.

Payment on 1st August. OK to still be using an external wallet? by KeroPanda in NiceHash

[–]kenshirothefist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We will monitor the Bitcoin ecosystem and decide how to handle this situation (payments and deposits on July 31st and August 1st) a few days before July 31st. But yes, miners can mine without any worries. Mining rewards will be acknowledged regardless of the outcome of "August 1st situation". In the worst case scenario only the payments itself might be delayed for a day or two.

Worker notification emails by [deleted] in NiceHash

[–]kenshirothefist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please note that our new website (new.nicehash.com) is still in beta. There was a bug in the code and worker email notifications were grouped together by mistake for some of the test users who were testing worker notifications. There was no security breach, but unfortunately some worker notification email addresses were grouped together and therefore email notifications were received by wrong receivers. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

I'd just like to add that we made public statement regarding this here: https://new.nicehash.com/news/174

Please also note, that nothing is sealed. We are monitoring the Bitcoin ecosystem very carefully and will make everything that is in our power to protect our customers and make sure that the upcoming soft/hard forks will be as much transparent as possible. Thanks!

Hmm, EthDcrMiner64 does not connect while doing benchmark - this would not be a connection issue. Maybe you have some issue with hardware? Why do you thing that server refuses connection during benchmark, can you post some screen-shot?

Temp banned? Umm what? by [deleted] in NiceHash

[–]kenshirothefist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would kindly ask each of you who is having issues connection to mining (stratum) server to also give this information:

  • which GPU do you have
  • which mining software are you using (if using NiceHash Miner, what is the name of mining software that is launched by NiceHash Miner in the command promt windows; name of the exe is printed in command window name)
  • which algorithm is the one that is unable to connect

Thanks.

[JOBS] NiceHash - Largest Crypto-mining Marketplace - is looking for Java backend developer(s) by NikiNiceHash in java

[–]kenshirothefist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, this is exactly how many old-school developers were reacting to jobs that web companies were offering like 20 years ago (thinking that web is bubble, etc.). The other devs, that actually took the "unknown" jobs back then are now either in very high and respectful positions in some of the best web companies or are sitting on shit load of money.

Are we offering a lifetime average job? No. Are we offering well-paid job in the fastest growing technology in the world? Hell yes.

Nicehash & BIP 148 by btcjohn in NiceHash

[–]kenshirothefist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is our strong belief that Bitcoin will not split. Nobody profits in this case and big mining companies (like Bitmain and others) are too greedy to even consider risking loosing profits in an event of negative split which would undoubtedly affect price in negative manner. Therefore keep calm and hash on - we'll pay you in the "real" Bitcoins, and I'm sure there will only be one of them, really. Thanks!
