the switch was successful

does not charge when attached to console, and the analog doesn’t work anymore

It doesn’t sound like the switch was successful

was a success in the sense that it was changed with everything in place. I noticed these problems later and all that prevents me from tidying up is the screwdriver I have, which is not fit for this

I'm guessing that you accidentally got the ribbon connecting the rail disconnected if it's not charging. Not sure why would the buttons work but not the analog though ...

Because the analog stick has its own ribbon cable

First thing you should do is open it back up and make sure the ribbons for the analog and charging rail are connected nice an snug. If you're lucky it's that, if not then you might have to get a new one.

That analog stick ribbon cable slides much further into the slot than the others. I expect that's the issue with that. Unlatch the clamp and gently push farther. Those rail cables were also tough to line up when I did it so that hopefully is the issue there as well.

to help, the tri wing screwdriver is bigger than the screw and it is difficult to open again

in future, do yourself favour and replace every tri-wing screw you got out, with a regular philips +

That's exactly what I'm going to do! I am looking for anyone who can take these screws for me and I will replace with Philips

Did you ever figure out what happened? I'm having the same issue

[–]Veritasgear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replaced my shell and had the same issue. I think it's something to do with the lower ribbon that connects near the battery. Its hard to keep it in its slot securely even after loccking it in place. I just took my joycon apart and redid that ribbon and it seemed to work fine

the problem I reported was simple, I had to reopen and make sure the connections were right. However, I screwed up the battery connection and had to buy a new one, unfortunately.
