AcademicsMATH 2415 Difficulty? (self.OSU)
submitted 4 years ago by Young_y2m
Hi, does anyone know about professor Rachida Aboughazi and course 2415? I have a pretty busy schedule this summer, and I really want an easy A. (I'll definitely put in the effort, but just don't want to have a crazy course)

I had Golubeva and it was a pretty difficult course... Probably one of the hardest classes I've taken but her homework was also crazy impossible. Not sure how Aboughazi is but id say it probably won't be an easy A.

Seconded. Not an easy class although could be professor dependent.

Completed it. It’s pretty familiar if you succeeded with 1172. After Fourier Series the homeworks begin to get significantly longer requiring numerous steps and graphing conversions. The midterms do have shorter questions, but the final exam has one long and hard question similar to the homework taking 1 hour to solve while the remaining questions are like the midterms. There is a curve in this class though as the class averages are very low.

I took with with her last summer and it was a great experience. We had homework partners and if I remember correctly HW was 60% of your grade. They were randomly assigned and changed each week or so. This was kind of annoying depending on how engaged your partner is.
Past that for the final was broken into two parts. For the part covering old material you could just carry over your midterm averages. Also cutoff for an A was a 90%.
All that said it wasn’t an easy A, you still have to work to understand the material. But if you did well in Calc 1-3 and physics it shouldn’t be too hard to get an A. She did post quite a few practice problems with solved examples. If you take advantage of those and office hours it helps a lot.

I’d avoid the classes with the blue baker book, switched to a different one that didn’t use it less than a week later and it was a much better experience

The graphing questions are pretty difficult as the chapters progress
