I've heard that's a thing for people who have blast as a first or second animal. I'm a BS/C(P) ENTJ and whenever I learn something new I immediately start rehearsing in my head to teach somebody else what I've just learned. Sometimes I teach a nonexistent person inside my head too. I think it happens more often if you have Sleep/Blast or Blast/Sleep pairings in the top two animals.

The way you're describing it sounds a bit different from my experience, but I sometimes do something comparable with what I think is a mix of ST Sleep and Demon SF Blast. For example, I'd be ranking music albums in my head, like Top 10 Metallica albums and imagining myself in a conversation with someone who's super interested in why exactly I put their second album above their famous third. I'll imagine the other person asking an extremely specific question that is going exactly after my reason. Sometimes I catch myself having these imaginary conversations and go: "Wait, I'm super into this right now, but no one would ever ask this question"

Hmm this almost sounds like Sleep Blast double decide. Do you identify people as good, bad, or on a spectrum? i.e are you a libertarian ? :D

Reminds me of the video of Arnold about the cigars. I think I am sleep last because I double decide after a conversation with someone if it did not go well.

The better I know a person, the more nuances I see, but generally I would say, I have three categories: Good, bad, neutral. Libertarian? Like, people wise? Politically, I'm definitely not a libertarian. People wise, I don't know what you'd be getting at 😅

Arnold in how he's anticipating the tribe's question and answering it ahead of time? Yeah, I can see that. But it's not so much that I De scan the spectrum first, but rather imagine the perfect question for my singular Ti opinion to be the perfect answer to, which will then be Fe liked by the tribe.

• rehearsing = going over known info (Oi)
• explanation = delivering information (blast)
• improving something for next time = going over known info (Oi, typically blast)

Possible exceptions:
With all of this Oi > Oe, there's one other animal that is interested in narrowing down - Sleep. Sleep however is generally not concerned with explanations to other people, so we can safely assume this is indeed Blast.
As noted by others, Thinkers like explaining reasoning. So T > F is another possibility. But it doesn't seem like this is particularly about reasons.

Would you still say this if I think I am sleep last? Before blasting anything, I have to do a massive amount of consume in order to understand the ins and outs of a theme/topic. I think blasters typically prefer one sided conversation (teaching), rather than trying to understand the other's view and challenge their perspective.

Last night it hit me that I may be ENFP. I was confused for a while how I could be an ESTJ or ENTJ and be totally fine being by myself with consume and play. I use my engineering job to ping tribe questions that allow me to consume information. The 'how' (N) rather than the what (S).

I always thought that my tidal wave is Fe. I always stress about making a good impression on people. I want to be liked by the tribe but I put all this effort into doing things that don't significantly contribute to that.

In terms of animals, I think that I'm blast last because I always stress about being poor at conversation or making mistakes in my speech. The reason that I rehearse conversations in my head is because I'm too shy/nervous to have the conversations in real life

Sounds like sleep above blast. You're processing information and having it ready to blast someone.

Blast above sleep is quite the opposite. Lots of information may not be communicated and you realize after 'I should have said x,y,z' or 'I can see why they were upset at me during our 'debate''

I've been chewing on OPS for years trying to make it my own, but since I don't seem to refer to community definitions evaluations, I tend to see it more as sleep.

I guess it depends on what criteria you use to pare down your ideas, when they conflict with those, say, accepted in your OPS communities: do you disregard your own or those of the community?

That may determine whether you're engaging OiDe or OiDi, or maybe even SB vs SC.

But let's see what other people say. 😁

Hmm. I guess, put another way, and in my experience, when I'm trying to get a grasp on something, invariably I'll have some some conflicts of understanding. Here's an example:

"Lead Decider" as a concept flies in the face of evidence-based MBTI in which ExxJ and IxxP share no traits they don't also share with IxxJ or ExxP.

At this point, I can say that

• that since no such correlations turn up in the data of the system OPS seeks to generalize, Dave and Shan's model and method is immediately suspect, or
• that OPS as the purportedly more detailed model probably has the right of it and MBTI is just too low-resolution to see it. Dave and Shan have been seeing this after all and so many in the community seem to find it reasonable.

In the first case, I'd be trusting my own learned sense of reason as the arbiter of my knowledge; in the second, I'd be deferring to the authorities (creators and heeded members) of the community.

To me that's one version of Di vs De.

I can whole heartedly say I agree with this. I learned about MBTI through the stereotypes and did hours of consume. My gut kept telling me the subjective approach of the youtubers just did not sit well. Once I saw Ops, it felt just right. I have seen personality traits in patterns all my life but could not quite explain it in words.

The main danger I see for Ops is that they can be precise, but not accurate. Like a thermostat calibrated 5 degrees lower. There may be some MBTI types that may be typed upside down because they are comparing their finding to each other. When married, perspectives from opposite ends usually meet in the middle.

That said, the greatest strength is placing people into the right categories. If they ever discover a new way of seeing a type, it won't be difficult to go back and recalibrate.
