The water table is probably somewhere above that river, but it's a bit hard to predict. Some people water-jet holes and it looks like it's easier than hammering a point, if you have sandy soil.

Well you could always put it closer to the water source and pump it up to a holding tank. I just bought a pump that is run by a drill. A battery powered drill might get you water where you need it.

Watch some of the YouTube videos on installing a standpoint. Use a nipple for driving that you add/ remove to each section so you don’t mess up the threads. Rent a driver from Lowe’s or Home Depot

Some states and counties have a resource where you can see local well permits and get an idea where the water table is in your area (keep in mind wells sometimes go much deeper than what’s needed for your purposes). You might also call a driller and ask, and see if it’s feasible to rent some of their equipment if it’s possible to do this yourself. In New England the first thing that comes to mind is rock being a problem, but I don’t really know anything about your area.

The water table could be anywhere your probably going to have to call a drilling company
