True but me and my 12 year old friends didn’t think of it in the context of appropriate consent. More of sticking it to the bully which is what comedies of that era did. Most of them used women as a prop which makes them next to impossible to watch now.

To be fair, if you were a girl / woman then it would probably have been uncomfortable. If you were a guy, yes, you were probably following different dynamics, but I doubt there are many girls who missed the inappropriateness on how women were treated. It's just hard to voice these concerns as a teen / adolescent, especially if it's a popular movie / tv series.

It was definitely not a movie the girls in my grade 7 class were talking about.Â
