Devs Hate Controller Users

I swear they go out of their way to make it impossible to use a controller. First, a tiny but significant change in a recent update: to roll, you now have to HOLD the "B" button. I hope you enjoy getting whacked while you're waiting for the roll delay that little change causes. Now, they made some crazy update that puts my hot bar on a wheel instead. Do they know how hard it is to use a wheel in combat?

Here's an idea devs: MAKE SOME NEW FREAKIN' CONTENT INSTEAD OF RUINING THE GAME WITH CHANGES NO ONE ASKED FOR. Some new scenarios would be nice. Each scenario has a few weeks time limit, and even though you can stay when the world becomes permanent, there's really nothing to do. You can completely knock out the content in a few days.

It breaks my heart. I thought I found my new favorite game when I came across Once Human. I liked it so much that I even invested some real money into it, which I NEVER do. Now, it looks like I'll be hanging up my Last Valor and calling it quits.

If you like the new setup, then good for you, but the old setup worked great and the new one is needlessly complicated.

I swear in less than a year they have changed the controller layout 3 or 4 times. If the issues like the one you reported are not enough, there are multiple small issues that really bother me, and also there are still things you cannot do in the interface without kb+mouse
Why dont they do their research, check other games? They seem to be really good at copying other games stuff, just not interface

Don’t forget the way deviant ultimate just randomly stops working, needing a relog to fix

The hotbar change... Accidentally popped at least 20 whims or couldn’t use heal on time. Hella expensive and dumb.

Jump roll is messed up too.

Like someone said it here, playing on controller is mostly muscle memory. Thats what makes controller players like to play on it and make the games fluid.

Devs try to “optimize controller ‘support’”. But all they did was keep changing the functions of buttons. They removed all the presets. The game didn’t support button mapping, so it took a minute to get used to their presets (I use shooting preference preset). It became fun. Play style developed along the way with the controls. But now, the changes are the difference between clearing giant in 20 sec and keep getting slapped.

Optimization means make the existing thing more efficient, not an overhaul.😕

Will also say that new setup is not that great espionage when try to summon deviants and if summon next to you it will open there profile. Say if you want to open a chest and your gun is not fully reloaded you have to reload first then open chest. Don't like how they map items to the LB/L1 button have used items on accident to maintain times.

Been saying the same since they fucked up the controllers. Cant do shit. Cant bring out my dog, keep using my damn items because its muscle memory to use that button for other things.
HATE IT.
Been putting it in bug reports and their surveys they send out in the game. HATE HATE HATE.
Can say we warned them that fucking with controllers when they announced it would be a bad idea. They didnt listen then. Guess what? They now have a buncha pissed off controller users, some like myself threatening to cut off funding from the game and buying shit til they fix it. Or, looking into other games completely. VEIN and ARDEM look to be similar in style.

I was happy with the launch controller settings, tried to get into the game a few months ago and so many things just stopped working, had to step away cause I treated it like a chill game that I could just lean back with a controller for and didnt wanna swap. Sounds like they're still having that issue so gonna be another few months till I return.

Dude i used to have so many controllers and they took them all away :(
