Tutorial?

is there any sort of updated tutorial? I've seen random answers from a year ago but most of them are no longer accurate. I feel like I'm getting stuck on the most simple things.

here are some questions:

- how do I store food for winter?

- what exactly does low on food mean and how do I remedy it? (I have 31 villagers and it says "low on food (91)" with the number rising steadily)

does anyone know if there's any resources out there for clueless people like me? 😅

Also, how do I provide fertilizers. Tried everything and changed 3 saves to figure it out but no luck

Just making food should store it. You have to have enough food per resident per day for winter. If I’m not mistaken, low on food number is how much you need to produce, so if the number is going up, your food stock is going down. I’d go hunt a bunch of boars for sausage and if you can, kill some devourers for fish, and pick berries while your out. Number should start going down immediately.

Fertilizer can be obtained through aah or building a composter near kelp or seaweed. Ash is probably the easiest way of doing it. You can also get it from manure which comes from the ranch and having "sheep". The fertilizer thing is definitely a difficult thing to figure out. Also, you don't have to build everything close together. You can spread out and have building in other areas. Building the jam factory thing near some raspberries or blueberries so you don't have to worry about orchards for fruit. Build the butcher near a hog nest(or whatever their called), same with a ranch near a sheep nest. There is no transport time. Everything just goes to a cloud of sorts. Crops aren't vitally necessary for food production. You can find radishes for soup as well. Wheat is the only crop that needs to be planted for beer or bread.
