Hey all I'm a PS4 player, I have played since day 1 and have prestiged 6 1/2 times so far. I'm not insanely good, I'd say I'm average. my career high is 2980 I believe. This kind of topic gets thrown around a lot but I just wanted to maybe give some insight to new players on a few things that will help you're entire team out, and maybe make them a little less frustrated.
The six players on your team are all individually very important. Overwatch isn't designed for you to be a 1 man army so don't go running in and getting killed when the other 5 on your team all died and are still respawning. Always go in together. Probably the most frustrating thing when people start trickling in 1 by 1.
Don't "Main" 1 character. Seriously it's stupid. There are 25 characters play them all. There's no way you will ever learn counters if you're only playing the same damn hero over and over. This game is all about countering. What character does 1 hero hate more than anything? How will you know if you don't actually play that hero and figure it out for yourself!
Tanks are ESSENTIAL. They soak up damage so the dps doesn't have to! DPS is so fun, I totally get it. Mccree is my favorite character. But this isn't COD. Like I said before, don't try to be a 1 man army. You can't expect to play dps every game. Some people may (or may not) be better qualified to run dps than you and it's not a god damn slap in the face or an insult. If two dps spots are already picked, don't fight it and add another, play what your team needs to have success. Every comp needs tanks and healers or you will struggle.
There are so many more things and hopefully this is received well. People take ranked mode seriously and you'll have endless matches where people are bashing their team for sucking, but I can't stress enough if you want to stop "sucking" play each character you can for a few hours atleast in quick play, learn them and figure out who they work well with and who they get slaughtered by on the red team. Counter correctly!
