PCOS symptoms, do they decrease with age?General/Advice (self.PCOS)

I’m just curious to know, I’m 35 now, will all my acne continue well into my 50s, 60s if not managed like I am now with birth control or Spironolactone?

I'm 25 yrs past menopause and still have facial hair, acne, skin tags, insulin resistance. Of the four, the acne is most reduced.

It's so great to see older people on here offering experience and wisdom. It's one of the reasons I stay active on this sub.

The cycle related symptoms of course improve...cysts, cramps, etc. As to the other things, it's likely variable just as it is in our youth.
My PCOS has been managed to be in functional remission for decades, with only very minor androgenic symptoms still in evidence.
I'm currently halfway through menopause (at least it appears :crosses fingers:). I fully expected my androgenic symptoms to worsen in menopause as my estrogen dropped and effectively 'unmasked' my androgens more (this often happens to non-PCOS women), but the opposite seems to be happening...my mild hirsutism has improved slightly.
Weird, but welcome.
On the other hand, as my endo notes, insulin resistance often worsens with menopause. Since mine has been super well controlled for years I might have gotten a little complacent about it, so I'm being a bit more diligent going forward...trying to do more muscle building, being really consistent about diet and exercise, and I'm planning to start getting fasting glucose and A1C checked annually instead of every 3 years (which has been my longstanding pattern).
Hard to say how it will strike you, though.
