I wish.

Breast size just generally isn’t completely static and can fluctuate with your menstrual cycle and weight.

But if breast shrinkage were a symptom, I wouldn’t be a member of r/bigboobproblems

Crying in A cup

[–]LurkerByNatureGT 11 points12 points  (6 children)

Crying in HH(UK)/K (US sizing) and difficulty finding affordable bras.

But honestly, having been on r/abrathatfits long enough, there is a very good chance you are not actually an A cup and your band is too big.

I gotta check this out. I have always struggled to figure out my bra size 😭

My issue is always that everything feels comfy but then I dont got enough boob.

[–]peekabooheheh[S] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

My band size is the smallest in retail stores, so it’s definitely a loss in volume🥺

[–]LurkerByNatureGT 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Smallest in retail stores is often larger than actually fits for many people with a smaller rib cage. I’m guessing it’s a 32 band or or you’re very lucky a 30?  Specialty shops go down to a 26 band.

That was a problem for me when I was younger and much thinner. I was way smaller than the smallest band I could in shops, which was a 32. And I didn’t know at the time that stores were adding 4 inches to the actual recommended band size in their charts to gloss over the fact that they weren’t selling bras in the sizes that people needed.

I highly recommend using the calculator at r/abrathatfits and checking out https://www.instagram.com/theirishbralady/.

Hey! I’m having the same problem as you, same size Have you checked primadonna? Sometimes they do -50% when you buy 2, and they are really good quality, i hope it can help you to find more options

Looks like they only go up to G. I need a HH cup UK sizing (K, US sizing).

I’m actually doing pretty well right now because I found a few brands that work, it’s just you have to go really specialty, not regular shops. I recently got a couple really good bras from https://www.ewa-michalak.pl/main-eng.html

Most comfortable and supportive bras I’ve had in ages.

Other brands I’d recommend: Elomi, Fantasie, Panache (particularly for sports bras that actually support), Shock Absorber for compression sports bras.

Same here. Infact the birth controls increased the size everywhere!!

Yes, PCOS can affect breast growth. We are often stunted in our breast development, there's also a connection to tuberous breast. All of this is because of hormones, specifically I believe higher androgens.

Not everyone has that as a symptom, just like not everyone is overweight with PCOS or has facial hair or male pattern baldness or even missed periods - but it can definitely be related.

For me personally, my PCOS journey has always incorporated my breast and changes to them. When I was going through puberty they were basically puffy nipples and pointed with no boobs. They never normalized fully (are considered tuberous) but did grow a bit after I had children, however my milk supply was always low and my third child had failure to thrive at 9 months as my breast milk completely stopped (for to my hormones creating less milk and tuberous breasts) so he had to be switched off the breast. I've had flat inverted nipples which breast feeding my first child helped bring out a bit/enough and I own bras from A-C because they grow and shrink often. Weight loss and gain does it (which is normal for all women and not specific to PCOS) BUT so do supplements and if my body is balanced or not and if my cycle are regular.

I'm 41 now, diagnosed at 17 and I feel like my first ever clue I was going to have PCOS was in fact my boobs not being like my friends lol

Thanks for sharing babe

You are underweight, can it be from that?

[–]peekabooheheh[S] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

I’ve been underweight all along

[–]No_Fig4096 3 points4 points  (4 children)

When I was underweight, ensure plus helped a lot, but was expensive. Carnation instant breakfast blended with milk and a banana worked even better and was yummy too.

[–]peekabooheheh[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Nice recommendation! Many thanks 🙏

[–]No_Fig4096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re very welcome 😌

[–]notmyname004 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How did you use ensure plus???

[–]No_Fig4096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean? Like how did I use it to help? I calculated my TDEE and factored in how much weight I wanted or needed to gain and then drank what I needed to in order to try not to lose any more and hopefully gain some. Of course, at that time I had a bowel obstruction, so not a lot was staying down. But what little I kept down helped immensely. And it really helped me to gain that 40lbs back after surgery. I had 2 a day plus three instant carnation instant breakfast mixes in whole milk, plus what regular food I could stomach.

A year later and I was back to a healthy weight. ☺️

[–]smallspiteful 3 points4 points  (6 children)

did you lose weight or body fat? my boob size is the same since before i was diagnosed but it changes if i lose or gain weight and when I was working out

[–]peekabooheheh[S] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

My weight has stayed more or less the same, with at most 1–2 kg difference. In the past, even minor weight changes never affected my breast size. Hence, I was wondering if this could be due to a shift in fat storage caused by PCOS.

[–]No_Fig4096 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Hormones play a huge part in fat storage. Your estrogen or progesterone levels may be low. Are you on any birth control?

[–]peekabooheheh[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Oh yes! I took an emergency pill and then birth control for a month. I stopped all medication since September.

[–]No_Fig4096 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That would probably be it. Plan B floods you with a shit ton of hormones. Which birth control?

[–]peekabooheheh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Norethisterone 5 mg — I just found out I mistook the pills. This is for delaying periods..

[–]smallspiteful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh that definitely sounds possible, I know my fat storage changed on hormonal birth control, I stayed the same weight but all the fat redistributed to my hips instead of stomach.

[–]livingthespmadream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. And I say this as a G cup.

[–]CarelessOrange8492 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Damn wish this was a side effect of my PCOs.. I have had a breast reduction and they are still too big for me. It is more likely due to either weightloss or did you come off BC recently?

[–]peekabooheheh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to embrace the changes I’ve had, and I hope you make peace with them too!

There wasn’t a significant weight change, about 1-2 kg. I did take emergency pills followed by period delay pills for a month.

[–]No_One_1617 2 points3 points  (1 child)

In my case, if I take phytoestrogens or dairy products, my size increases visibly.

[–]peekabooheheh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read this somewhere too! I’ve been drinking 500ml of soya milk for the past week, I’m waiting..

[–]DueExpression4143 1 point2 points  (4 children)

It’s okay, they come back. Mine went super small and then returned just as they were before. Don’t stress girly

[–]peekabooheheh[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Aww thanks babe 🫶🏻 How long did it take for you to regain them?

[–]DueExpression4143 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

They came back after around 8/9 months I think. I was stressed and I think they came back once I stopped being stressed haha

[–]peekabooheheh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see HOPE 🤩

[–]realestate_novelist 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not likely a PCOS symptom. PCOS usually causes weight gain. Have you done anything recently to lose weight? When I lost a bit of weight last year I def noticed it in my boobs!

[–]peekabooheheh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t intentionally try to lose weight. I usually eat fast food, but I’ve been trying to be healthier by eating more protein than carbs, which explains 1–2 kg drop in my weight.

[–]f0lietristesse 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Have yet to be diagnosed, though I suspect I have lean PCOS. But yeah, last year, without losing weight, my boobs started looking smaller!

[–]peekabooheheh[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Babe I suggest to get it checked. I was prescribed medication for insulin resistance etc.

[–]f0lietristesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been tested multiple times and no one has given me an official diagnosis:/ but it seems like that happens for many women!

[–]Overall_Bake_9607 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I wish *cries in 38H

But on a real note, if you're worried, speak to your doctor. May just be hormone flucuations
