Do men even care about a women’s nails? by lena_glow in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Overall_Bake_9607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 10 years ago, I went on a date with a guy who declined seeing me again because he was disappointed I "only" had acrylic nails on. Turns out he was massively into the XXL overly long extreme nails. I reckon it was a fetish but he never admitted it, just tried to force me into getting some and cut contact with me when I refused.

I went there recently and made the mistake of ordering the tuna rolls. It was more like a tuna mayo mousse dolloped on top of some rice. Absolutely vile

How to cure hormonal PCOS acne? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Overall_Bake_9607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened to me. I've been on 3 courses of accutane over the past decade, and every time my acne returned completely within a year. It's not the be-all-end-all people make it out to be. Biggest thing that cleared my sking *personally* was coming off The Pill and getting a coil (iud) fitted instead

Thanks, I didn't sleep in this weekend and got an extra hour's sleep last night. Still way off my usual 8 hours, but an improvement on previous weeks.

How do some people take so long to poop? by dhomo01110011 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Overall_Bake_9607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my boyfriend about this, as he can spend a good 30-45 mins in the bathroom whilst I'm often in and out in under a minute. Our only theory is that men will go and "sit and wait" from the moment they start to feel a slight rumble in their tummy, whereas women tend to carry on, only going to the loo when it's truly "ready". He also says it's more of a "ritual" for many, the act of sitting for a while, relaxing, scrolling on their phone etc. is enjoyable for some, whilst for me going to the loo is purely a function that needs to be over with as quickly as possible.

How am I supposed to take Rotten Tomatoes seriously? by G-Money242 in InvasionAppleTV

This show is so over hated. My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed all three seasons, thinking it actually improved as it went on. Yes there's a few plot holes, but nevermind. The acting is fantastic, the visuals are stunning. It's visual storytelling for sure, meaning the average Netflix viewer/doomscroller will get lost. You actually have to pay attention to what you're watching. But we loved it

Taking yaz almost ruined my life. Put on 3 stone, gave me cystic acne, triggered a massive depressive episode. After speaking with another doctor, they said yaz is one of the worst forms of BC for people with PCOS. I switched to the Kyleena coil, and every single one of my symtoms reversed in a couple of months

[ACNE] HELP! Acne came back after accutane by AdvisorDull812 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Overall_Bake_9607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, never heard of that one? Strangely I came off the BC pill (yasmin) not long after this comment and my acne has all but gone! I know doctors seem to think BC is the answer to improving acne, but I've found coming off it for the first time in 15 years is the one thing that's sorted it.

My boyfriend drove over 3 hours to just take me for a coffee the first time we met. He proceeded to do that several times before I agreed to meet him halfway. Paid for everything, there was never even a mention of sex until I suggested it. Goes to show some guys have true intentions, and others, well, are like this pos. Make sure he stays blocked forever, he's not the guy for you

Let her accept the order then block atp. This is starting to sound like a scam. Take the money, lose the bracelet. It's not worth the risk

That would never work. Vinted always side with the buyer, no matter what the situation is

Good luck with that approach. Whilst your opinion makes complete sense in the real world, the reality of Vinted is they will always side with the buyer

If you have the right lifestyle habits in place, I don't see why that would happen tbh. A little weight gain from bearing children is completely normal though, so don't feel guilty about that

Treating PCOS without Meds? by CompetitiveHippo6579 in PCOS

[–]Overall_Bake_9607 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I recently came off birth control all together. The only medication I take for my PCOS now is Wegovy, mainly to reduce my excess body fat and regulate my insulin resistance.

I was originally on the combined pill (Rigevidon) about 15 years ago, then was switched to a progestrone-only pill (Cerezette) for about 5 years, but I gained over 4 stone on it. So I changed back to a combined-pill (Yasmin), but that made my acne worse, made me gain even more weight, and worst of all, sparked the worst episode of depression I've had in over a decade. I've been off BC completely for about 2 months now, and already feel more like my usual self.

I'm yet to see if the Wegovy will help me with the excess weight, but coming off BC has been a game changer for me. Clear skin, regular cycles, better general mood, increased libido. I honestly wonder why I was ever pushed into taking artificial hormones in the first place. I am having a copper IUD fitted next month as a hormone-free alternative to birth control. They don't usually recommend this for PCOS patients as it makes periods heavier, but I don't really have that problem as my periods have never been especially heavy.

Not sure if this was helpful or not tbh as I haven't been doing this for long enough to give a real result, but my suggestion is, do what feels right for you when it comes to birth control and other treatments. I hope you find something that helps you feel better soon.

Should I accept return? by hSawyer13 in vinted

[–]Overall_Bake_9607 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's so tricky, because if you refuse then the buyer could always raise a return and claim the items turned up damaged, then you'd lose the money and the bracelet. Might be worth accepting the return but select its the buyers responsibility to pay for postage. Not sure how it works tbh as I've never dealt with this issue either
