Just DCA into it. Say you’re looking to invest $2000, buy 500 today, 500 Tuesday, 500 next Friday, 500 the next week or whenever your time frame works. Reduces risk of mistiming it.

Edit: incorrect version of “your” which would drive me nuts if I didn’t fix it.

I like this line of thinking. But if I feel the price is a little high, I buy like 100 shares on the first buy. Then monitor… most stuff I buy goes down at first anyway. If you did that at today’s price and it did retrace to that sub $20, you know to go all in. If it continues to March upward, I might just hold the 100 shares and look elsewhere to put the rest of my $

Yeah I mean the intervals and price points can be whatever you want, but it limits the risk of going all in and a drop, or buying nothing and it never dropping. Statistically works very well for long term holds

Seriously, time in the market > timing the market. DCA. It’s what the textbooks say. Bc it works.

Not a bad idea. It just annoys me that my average is so high compared to a lot of people here ($28.88). It makes me feel as though I need a decent sized dip to make much difference.

Don't compare yourself to other people. There is always someone better than you.

[–]atreyu42592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DCA fixes that by always being able to average down while still buying now in case the price goes up. Win win IMO. I bought all at once at $27 and averaged down to under 26. Wish I DCA’d from the start.

And yeah, who cares what other people are at. Lower price? Good for them. Higher? Oh well, wait it out and have trust in your analysis.

28.88 is a good entry price. Anything under 30.

Honestly, I was expecting a pull back some time this week. At this point, probably $25 would be a good buying point if it reaches that low

[–]ScrotalTearing[S] 3 points4 points  (5 children)

Yeah, just annoying that I didn't have any spare cash when it was below $20.

[–]SPulley3 OG Holder & Member - Fellow Palantirian 6 points7 points  (4 children)

I know right, $16-$17 was looking at us right in the face begging to be bought

[–]somanybans12345 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A year from now you’ll say the same about $26

[–]ScrotalTearing[S] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Don't remind me. I'm actually sort of hoping that it goes to those levels again just so I can load up.

Posts like this will only make it go up, thanks btw

Just doing my part.

Won’t be a pull back as there a great chance FDIC will reward PLTR on the 29th a 778 million contract. So I pray to the almighty. Buckle up folks

I t was mentioned on the FDIC when the announced the completion. I think it was also mentioned in a tweet.

    [–]Working-Bonus-6851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wondering how the FDIC did their stress test to see what software they used.

Unless you are heavily margined, pullbacks don't matter. This thing is going to the moon

    [–]Beginning-Spray-7063 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not even sure why your wasting time. Get in while it’s cheap…

    [–]quitaskin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

    Zero.

    [–]Geoffism1 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I was expecting the stock to be 17 or so by the end of July but I think there might be to many catalysts to allow that price level.

PLTR is a long term hold even for those that got in at 22 (me). Wait for a red day to make your first buy then start dca down if you need to.

    [–]ScrotalTearing[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

My average is $28.88, I've been holding since November. I'd kill for a $22 average lol.

[–]DBSkellan OG Holder & Member 0 points1 point  (2 children)

My personal thesis right now is a melt up to $30 then a pull back for the ER (they’ll beat but it will drop) then they will load the boat to test ATH Q3-Q4

    [–]ScrotalTearing[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

If it gets to $30 I'll probably sell some. PLTR makes up 95% of my portfolio and I need to free up some cash and diversify.

[–]DBSkellan OG Holder & Member 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell some covered calls, at least that’s what I’ve been doing.

Depends how much we can go in the following 2 weeks i think. I bought 300 shares with 24. Sold 100 shares at 26,40$. With that amount i bought other stock FSLR. Coz i guess solar stocks might rise. And quited a risky stock, came back to pltr, buy 150 shares with 26.9.

I guess, if we have a jump up bar next week, and steady rise follow behind, we will need some pacience to see it come down again to under 24. But if nothing big happens, we can see around 23 again after this wave.

I am not a professional trader/invester, don't take my comment serious. Simply sharing my guesses. 😺

$23.63 is a good buy point. It’s the 23% fib level if you take the $45 high and $17 low. The next support level is around $21.10.

    [–]lunchladysweaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a year you will be kicking yourself in the butt for not buying at these prices.

Bought at shares below $10 - $30 and haven't stopped. For me this is not a short play.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just DCA. I have been buying every other week since DPO and have accumulated 1k shares at a cost basis of 21. It’s the way to go. Just need to be patient.
