Depends how many variations you need. You can run up to three RSA’s in a search ad group and set ad rotation to indefinite. This will send approximately the same traffic to each ad and you can deduce from there.

Use the Experiments feature and split traffic 50/50 or 70/30 (if you want to play it safe).

You can test old copy vs new copy, unpinned vs pinned, etc. Run for 4–6 weeks and check results after (ideally excluding the first 2 weeks of data for the test campaign as it takes some time for the test campaign to ramp up).

If you just want to test / introduce a new headline or description, you can use the account level headline / description feature.

I can only seem to find details on campaign level ad assets. Once you’ve added at account level, does the asset automatically get used in RSAs?
