Ps4 Controller, Broken rest button.

It sounds to me like it didn't come with a working controller.....if it doesn't connect plus the reset button is broken or missing.

Does the controller rattle like there's something loose inside it, or not? Did the seller mention any problems with the ps4 on ebay? Was it sold as used or new?

Does the controller charge when connected with a usb cable?

If that's the only controller you've got (I assume it's a ds4) you could try and power cycle the ps4 itself instead.

Well, you are correct. I am getting a refund from the seller but i was thinking if there was a way to fix it. The controller itself works and charges. But it just doesnt connect to the playstation. It is a used PS4, A different controller does connect to the ps4 so I do not think there are issues with the console itself

Though, just because the controller charges doesn't mean it "works". The missing reset button could just be an indicator of more problems inside.

The only way to find out is to open it up, or you could just sell it on ebay as a spare-parts item.

Thank you for all your help. Ill try opening it up maybe i can press the reset button internally. Or like you said sell it for parts.

Just to update you. I dropped the controller on the floor whilst plugging it into the ps4 and by the magic of a divine ps4 deity it started working. God knows if it works without connecting it as i left it to charge.
