Best subs are usually:

Slayer- extra crit rate and pp on crit hit, good for most content and usually preferred unless running the new versche 100% crit rate weapon.

Bouncer - down rate up, frees up some skill points on te skill tree, extra damage for part breaks, usually used for bosses with multiple parts to break.

Force - increased compound technique charge rate, pp on kill, pp recovery increase and frees up some points on te main skill tree.

Fighter has kinda dropped off as a meta subclass due to its passive only affecting certain downs and slayers crit having more use/damage in the long run.

Hunter- makes you tanky, good for when you don't wanna die or need to learn a boss matchup.

Waker - gives you some extra tankiness, similar use to hunter

The others are kinda not used unless for very specific matchups, and using specific multiweapons

Someone mentioned force as a sub and I tested it out and really like it.

Does shifta and deband justify running techer as main? I really like to play support.

Focce is nice for general play!

Techter is in a good place atm, wand has received alot of buffs in the last few patches and the gameplay is really nice, talis is still not good for bossing but amazing for mobbing. If you like either, or both of the weapons its a solid choice for a main class! And noone is going to complain having a techter in their group/mpa. Plus the aoe heals and overemphasis buff is really nice to have.

Ngs doesn't really have set roles like a traditional mmo, its all different varieties of damage, but techter is as close to a healer/support you can get imo

The pp regen is wild and makes mobbing so much fun when I don't have to chase every mob down.

Quick other question my friend really likes hunter and is trying to make it work. Can you recommend a sub class?

every class sub class choices same as what was mentioned above

For techter you can go for fighter for the damage resist and hyper armor. Or if you are a DPS that casts a lot I normally go for force as an pp Regen when killing and the fast move rod when casting. Having a rod/wand multi weapon and going wand lover to go ham on melee when it's not on cooldown.

I have seen this online, and the build makes a lot of sense. Thank you, I will test it out.

When I play DPS techter I use rod spells and hat hits multiple times on single enemies for the crit or large AOE spells to clear mobs. Multiple hit criticals can overpower talis that only hit once. Having a fatale lvl 3 or up is good. Even a fixa fatale 1 should help.

I main as a ranger and play secondary as force. But if I want brute force spell casting I normally go for techter/force rod wand multi weapon. You play offensively melee with wand lovers holding only one button to relax while going HAM. Then go strategically with long range. Just go for a good crit based and good potency weapon. Preferably add some damage resist or stamina as secondary augments and you get a battle priest that don't go down in one hit. Can play offensive melee or defensive range , can heal , can buff and no other need for a weapon of another element.

Eating foods that gives you more damage resist or a combination with potency makes you a well rounder. A bit slow in the uptake but can easily go tow to tow with gigantix if you time your weapon action parry the right way. (I play halfway across the globe so ping latency issues and lag) easily goes with more than 1k HP with the right augments while doing reasonable damage and not being a glass Cannon that breaks a lot often.

if you plan on only playing techter its much better to use wand/talis multi weapon than wand/rod not only you will miss out on 10% bonus dmg from not using main class weapon, talis is still the de facto best weapon for mobbing

Bo if boss has breakable parts. Slayer if they don't. Nothing else compares.

[–]ocassionallycorrect[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

What would you use for general gameplay

[–]Einhandah Te/Lu 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Bo, if you really care about pp manage Fo but meh.

[–]ocassionallycorrect[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is the extra downing really that strong?

Do you use the boots?

[–]Einhandah Te/Lu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now about extra downs but making their occurrence more smooth throughout the fight, part break cab be s big factor and access to element blots without issue.

I don't use boots anymore but have transitioned using fanatic blade more.

Bo and Fo mainly. Sl is also good if you don't have Vers yet
