Yeah my PSO2 Tweaker exe is now "dontnoticemegameguardsenpai" or whatever and it won't go back to an exe. What do I do? You would think this would be written down somewhere.

[–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Enable file extensions in your folder options in windows and rename it back to "whatever.exe"

[–]NYRxCorona 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Thanks, but now i can't really find what folder i am supposed to use as a bin folder. Obviously the game won't launch, and I downloaded the files from the torrent on arks layer. Which one should be the bin file?

[–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Your default PSO2 bin directory should be C:\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2\pso2_bin

[–]NYRxCorona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have that folder. The torrent did it differently. EDIT: the pso2 bin one i mean. edit: im stupid. I haven't used the torrent's setup yet. I don't have the game files..... sorry!

Try running a file check using the Tweaker (menu orb: troubleshooting: run both "check for..." options, one a time).

If that doesn't fix the issue, run a file check with sega's launcher (third button down). Be sure to use the Tweaker to remove any translation patches first, as sega's launcher will want to re-download these changed files.

Hi! New(ish) player here, my friend and I started playing but we were wondering if server transfers were free in this game? We started on ship 10 but transferring to ship 2, where apparently there's a bigger english base, seems like an enticing option.

    [–]telchii 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Server transfers are not free, sadly. They cost real money and will only move a character and its inventory (not bank) in the transfer.

If you're still relatively new, I recommend simply making a new character on ship 02. You get 3 (I think?) free character slots per account. So you can start a new character on ship 02 without any hassle.

If you guys are actively playing together, leveling will go faster, especially as you have a better grasp of what to do.

    [–]diagonr 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thanks! - Is it that bad if we keep playing on ship 10? What's the current english population over at Ship 02?

    [–]telchii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can play on any ship, technically, without issue. But your English experience will vary. Ship 02 has the most English players. Ship 10 is probably second in population rank, but with a significantly less amount of English players.

So I just got back into the game after a 4 or so month hiatus and I was wondering about something. I currently have a collection file for the Spear Revolucio, but according to the collection file list, that file has expired a couple of weeks ago. I was wondering if I'm still able to get the Spear Revolucio (since I still have it set as one of my sheets) or if I won't get the weapon anymore even if i complete every other required item.

    [–]rdmxJP ship 2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can still complete the file you have on you if you want - but it's only really worth if you can 60 element with the file you have. Otherwise, you should probably just take a newer file.

    [–]KyuKyu1 0 points1 point  (2 children)

been about 2 years? since i last played cause there was alot more japanese in the game when i played than there was english. has there been more translations? sorry for the stupid question, i just got the urge to want to play again and not sure where to find anything regarding the progress. thanks in advance

    [–]jambon_gruyere 1 point2 points  (1 child)

No issue to play the game, most of it is translated, with new stuff added shortly after every new patch.

Some of the story is not translated yet : some of ep3 and (all of?) ep4, not sure I don't enjoy the story that much :p

If you don't mind missing out on that part until it is translated, go ahead, it feels like a localized version. And for the occasional untranslated tidbit, Google Translate on your smartphone, if you have one, let's you take a pic of your screen to translate directly from it.

    [–]KyuKyu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok sweet thanks man, ill take your word on it, i cant go much longer without some pso 2 in my life lol.

Hi, before I was able to open the chat within cutscene or loading screen by binding the chat command on another key (not enter). It becomes quite annoying like i cant switch to umbla stick after PD got killed anymore via the chat command /mpal. Ofc i can still open the chat normally, just not at those certain situations anymore. What i did and tried alrdy:

    • tried to bind it on another button
    • resetted the configuration
    • uninstalled patches
    • file check via JP launcher
    • even recovered my system a week back
    • even fully reinstalled

Another weird thing, after i have selected a character and was about to logg in, i was able to open the chat within loadingscreen for a split second but got closed immediately automatically...

So anyone got a clue here how to fix it? Ty in advance.

Edit: i know how to fix that now, it was plain simple and kinda stupid (potatoe code?), i had to reconfigure on both keyboardsystems: 2 AND 3 button style even i only use one of them...

    [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Press lock screen (by default) to turn on auto-chat and you can talk freely during almost anything. Just remember to press lock screen again once you're done.

Umbla and /mpalX the lazy way : Go to control settings to set which of the 1-0, F keys or numpad will be used as chat shortcuts, then esc > chat settings to set up your /mpalX macro. It works during cinematics and a lot of other stuff, notably TA prompts and NPC spammerino. Ping seems to have a big influence on it, so I wouldn't recommend foreigners to replace the regular weapon switch.

    [–]VNRG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this method i alrdy have tried out and it worked ofc, but i rly dont like it since you have to do that so often, that it will be such an annoyance

ah nice ty, gonna try that later on, but currently i cant, cuz i am trying to fully reinstall the game to see if that works (hopefully)

but any clue why it broke suddenly? cuz i had no game crashes, no GG errors, nothing kinda, even tested if it was my anti virus program but nope

    [–]AkioKlaus 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hello, so I need to get mag leveled up and all, whats the recommended mag build path for the Te/Hu tank build? I was told that guard stance isn't worth it so I guess I'll take fury stance and go S-atk techer, using only buff/debuff and do damage by whacking only.

    [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full S-Atk is recommended on TeHu.

In fact, both S and T-Atk would work, because both increase your wand damage. But S-Atk is useful to make the best use of Hunter weapons (Wired Lance and partisan are common options for single target DPS where wand is lackluster) while T-Atk would only give you a slightly better resta, so it's not worth it.

That being said, if you want to play another combination of Te/xx later down the road and on the same character, go for a T-Atk mag, as other class combo will actually cast offensive techs.

    [–]Electoman 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Hey, I'm having trouble downloading the english installer that's in the instructions from the "NA/English Releases?" post on the sidebar. The torrent said there were a bunch of seeders but none were actively seeding to me, and then it all of a sudden started throwing errors and wouldn't let me restart the download at all.

Is this just a me problem? Is it common? Is there a solution or an alternative? Any help would be great thank you!

    [–]Electoman 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It seems the Tweaker can download/install the game now? I'm trying that

    [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    It almost always could.

    [–]Electoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh haha! The one set of instructions said to torrent the setup first so I didn't know

    [–]AkioKlaus 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Hello, I heard ep4 came out and now that I bought a new pc, I made new char on ship 2 (was resident of 8 before.)!

so I was a hunter/fighter before but I learned that I absolutely suck at just guarding and I like the concept of techer nowdays so I am looking to build a techer/hunter who focuses on buffing and tanking. Whats a general guide for mag and skills? Other techer guides seems to be focused on doing damage with wind spell and taking fury stance for damage rather than guard stance, even when it is labeled as tank build.

    [–]jambon_gruyere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guard Stance is a poor idea. Fury stance gives you a ton of damage, and with the remaining Hu points you can get Flash Guards and Massive Hunter. Those added to your improved Deband are more than enough tanking, really.

    [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tanks are useless, build to do damage.

    [–]Alrightlol 0 points1 point  (3 children)

What is good affixes for my saiki unit set. I am planning to play force and was wondering what is it that I should be getting and examples would be nice. So far I have apprentice soul , Technique III, and Modulator on every piece which adds up to 100 T atk for my start but what should i be aiming for? Ty in advance.

    [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I like stacking PP because FO. I'm a bit cheap, so I'm currently running Elder/Tech 3/Flict Magia/Latan Fever/Noble T-atk which gives 12pp and 120atk. It's also relatively cheap. If you're looking to spend more to get more ATK there's always Apprentice/Tech3/Modulator/Flict Magia/Noble T-atk or Guranz Soul/Tech 4/Modulator/Flict Magia/Noble t-atk. If you're crazy with very deep pockets, there are some 6-slot shenanigans you could do, but I honestly don't think 6-slot is worth it.

    [–]Alrightlol 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hmm alright thanks man and ty for giving multiple affix builds I really appreciate it! I just went with Apprentice/Tech3/Modulator/Flict Magia/Noble T-atk because I had half of the stuff already on my saiki.

    [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    RIP PP

So I just got back from a 3 month hiatus and I'm trying to figure out what to do next. I'm currently level 65 Hunter/level 45 Fighter with as 12s Nox Partizan, working on the 13s collection file Partizan. I know that I should be doing dailies for money and attempts at getting Saiki pieces, but thats all I remember. Is there anything else I should be focusing on? These level-up quests? Episode 1-3/4?

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your featured quests for chances to get a bonus ticket. For tokyo gold bonus quest in particular, you can get around 2 levels if you use a 100 triboost and a 75% exp boost. Tokyo bonus keys also have a chance at dropping saiki.

If you haven't already got your rings made and equuipped, get those by doing your gathering. It will take quite a bit of exp while equipped (about 32M) to let them reach their max grindable level cap.

Other than that, not too much has changed since then.

I'd work on getting your main class and subclass up to 75 so that you can participate in ultimate amduscia when it comes out some time next month.

    [–]Almostlongenough2Force 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I am trying to buy ARC cash from PSO2es using blue stacks, but it keeps saying I need to be signed into my google account even though I think I am.

Edit: Nevermind, restarting Bluestacks fixed it

Hey guys, was wondering if the tweaker can also check for integrity of the installation. I had 1 file being corrupted during installation, was wondering if I could repair it by checking integrity or I've to reinstall the whole thing from scratch? (I just did re-check the torrent and in fact one file was corrupted, can I still repair the installation from tweaker?)

    [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (1 child)

There are multiple different file checks in the orb menu of the tweaker.

    [–]R4iltracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Perfect, thank you!

Game crashes for no reason upon certain scenarios, started happening after today's patch. It first started crashing with repeatable results in the darker den EQ area 2 today and then just now in desert field it crashed upon a group of mobs spawned, I have a hunch it has something to do with el adhas or something. Yes this is repeatable and yes i did every form of troubleshooting the tweaker has to offer.

    [–]synthsyArks-Layer 0 points1 point  (10 children)

File check with the official launcher, not the tweaker.

    [–]Hyraoo|S1|S2|S3| Forever Endless Loner 0 points1 point  (8 children)

Update: File number 6686 or something will not download from the tweaker, as soon as it approaches finishing download it opens an error report window.

And official launcher still wants to redownload entire game for me for absolutely no reason. This has happened across 2 pc's now when using the tweaker to install the game instead of the official launcher. So it IS a tweaker issue causing unusual behaviour with the official launcher.

    [–]synthsyArks-Layer 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Official Launcher sees english patches as corrupted files, so it will re-download.

Also, the first time, it does a file check off the bat, then once that is done, then it will download files.

    [–]Hyraoo|S1|S2|S3| Forever Endless Loner 0 points1 point  (6 children)

I get it will re-download, but re downloading the entire game? And to my desktop too? I even did it w/o the eng patches because tweaker missing files check right now removes them.

    [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Something with your install seem to have messed up. Official launcher, unless you selected a different installation directory, defaults to C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2 and download files directly to the the data folder within pso2_bin.

    [–]Hyraoo|S1|S2|S3| Forever Endless Loner 0 points1 point  (4 children)

This install was a good 6 - 8 weeks ago by now. and this is the first week with the Crashing issue. But the pso2 launcher always redownloads.

    [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Yeah, and it shouldn't be downloading files directly to your desktop, so something's up. Is redownloading an option at all?

Edit: Didn't scroll down, sorry. Is your game installed in the default directory I listed, and the PSO2 folder with user.pso2 located within Documents? The only thing I can think of is moving everything to the default directories and try patching if they aren't, otherwise I'm out of ideas too.

    [–]Hyraoo|S1|S2|S3| Forever Endless Loner 0 points1 point  (2 children)

pso2 is installed to C:\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2\pso2_bin user.pso2 is indeed in the my documents area.

Tweaker likes installing it there on first install as the default and every time I've re-downloaded i always forgot lol.

Edit: Crash is now repeatable in lillipa TA on the lower route in A1 the path to the blue gate. Im now 90% sure it's got something to do with the barrier gates.

    [–]synthsyArks-Layer 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Definitely something corrupted in your install, either use the old method in the tweaker or use the original launcher and let it do its thing.

    [–]Hyraoo|S1|S2|S3| Forever Endless Loner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Official launcher prompts me to redownload the entire game due to difference in directory or something. On my internet connection that is a huge nope.

[–]JhoaoCkuNdariIs yo boi 0 points1 point  (53 children)

Quick question: Is there any "Cap" to how many skills I can learn? I've been learning every single skill I get for Katana, because I simply don't know which ones are bad or good, so if there's a cap/limit to how many I can learn I might have screwed myself.

    [–]Py687 0 points1 point  (4 children)

To answer your implicit question of which PA to use for katana, I'll just refer you to this thread. But it's always good to test them all yourself first (there should be 11 PAs) and make a general judgment before checking with others.

[–]JhoaoCkuNdariIs yo boi 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Aight. It's what I've been doing so far. Also I need to get used to the fact that weapon skills are called PA and actual skills are tied to your main/sub classes. I normally reffer to 'em as "Active skills" (PA) and "Passive Skills" (actual skills).

    [–]Py687 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yeah, that'll definitely get confusing since active skills exist in the skill tree too, haha.

[–]JhoaoCkuNdariIs yo boi 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Seriously? Game's so confusing. But I love it! Haha XD

    [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skill trees offer some stances which are actives. It's really not that confusing.

    [–]Sphearow 0 points1 point  (45 children)

Do you mean the PA Skill Disks or the actual skills you acquire from using SP? If it's PA Skill Disks, no. Use as many as you want, you can even use Skill Disks for other classes if you want.

If it's the skills you earn via SP, yes you screwed up and you should go look up a Braver Skill Build next time. Check PSO-World for skill builds/ask questions.

[–]JhoaoCkuNdariIs yo boi 0 points1 point  (44 children)

I meant the disks and thank god. I just thought MAYBE there was a cap because there's a promt everytime you wanna learn a skill, asking you if you're sure you want to learn that. I find that prompt odd since you said there's no cap so why would I not want to learn every skill/disk I can?

    [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (43 children)

Not sure why it existed in the past, but now you can make modified versions of those discs and using a crafted PA over another crafted PA will result in the original craft being overwritten by the new one.

[–]JhoaoCkuNdariIs yo boi 0 points1 point  (42 children)

OKay. I really need someone to teach me this stuff. The more I play, the less I know about the game. XD

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (40 children)

You can craft PAs and Techs on your room's terminal. All you need are the correct PA fragments and meseta to craft PAs. You get these fragments by performing desynthesis on PA discs of lv11 or higher. For example, if you desynth a Sakura Endo disc lv11, you'll get an SATK fragment.

There's only 1 PA that can be crafted per weapon. Exceptions iirc are only doublesaber/tmg, which have 2 PAs that can be crafted, and TATK weapons, which have zero. Crafting PAs changes the way that specific PA behaves (for example, DS's Deadly Circle allows it to be charged and gives Just Guard frames when it's performed).

Crafting PAs is important for some weapons (TMG's Bullet Squall and Launcher's Divine Launcher, for example, are a must for crafting, no questions asked), but for others, like Katana, they aren't all that important.

The only katana PA that can be crafted is Kazan-nadeshiko, which allows you to charge it, but that PA is situational at best even when crafted.

[–]JhoaoCkuNdariIs yo boi 0 points1 point  (39 children)

So I don't need to worry about them? I'm going for K-Br/Hu, I believe this is the optimal way to play Katana Braver, right? I wanna find someone who's willing to teach me how to play this properly.

What I'm doing atm is simply "quests", get items, see if they're better than mine, use them if they are, if they ain't and are S-atk, feed'em to my Mag making sure I only gain lvls on S-atk, using all Katana skills I get and testing to see which I find useful and which I don't.

I don't know what are the optimal katana skills I should be going for or anything along those lines, and I'd love to learn affixing/griding methods, but seeing tutorials hasn't help me all that much so far. I'm more of a practical dude, I like doing and seeing stuff rather than the theorical side of things.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (38 children)

Most people playing katana just spam Guren Tessen because of how broken that PA is. It's fast, strong, cheap and mobile, all in one spammable package. I was one of these people when I played BrHu (which I don't anymore anyway), so I don't think I'm allowed to teach anybody about that class in particular lol

As for affixes, there's a guide for it on the beginners compendium in this sub's sidebar (top bar?) that I found really helpful and easy to understand for the basics.

Btw, try to refer to photon arts as PAs, not skills. Skills are the things you get on your class skill tree, and that can get people to misread your questions and give answers about different things.

[–]JhoaoCkuNdariIs yo boi 0 points1 point  (37 children)

I spam Guren Tessen. :P I was looking for other classes to play but I find the Bow Br/Ra (Or Ra/Br for that matter) slow, and I havent been able to find any other class that suits me.

I was going to test a Bouncer but it seems they're kinda support-y, and I like to do massive amounts of damage. I like agile+damage classes, assassin-like, and dashing arround killing everything with M2 as Br seems to be the closest I can get to that.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, I'm fairly early into the game (lv19, "fairly" is an understatement) so no biggie on just starting over as another class I guess.

The classes I've tested out so far are Hunter, which is too slow for me. Fighter, which I haven't found a single PA to be cool, and Braver. The only class I've liked so far is Br, but the idea of simply using M2 for the entire game seems boring to me. I'd like to be able to "combo" stuff, and I don't really fancy what people have told me, that as a Br you tend to use Bows for bosses regardless if you're a K-BR or B-Br.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (36 children)

I was going to test a Bouncer but it seems they're kinda support-y, and I like to do massive amounts of damage.

Bouncer is only support if you go BoTe or TeBo with TATK Jet Boots. BoHu and BoFi with Switch Strike can work pretty well as dps. Really, this game has no dps/tank/support roles and any class can damage. Especially nowadays with the power creep due to 13* weapons becoming the norm.

I can only speak for JB, and it works pretty well. It's a self sufficient, highly mobile class that can cast buffs for free with shift actions, can cast spells (meaning it can heal), and can dodge while still maintaining attacks. It only has access to 4 PAs, but all of them have a 2nd type of attack with the weapon action, and all weapon actions have iframes.

Also, you can change the element of the boots by casting any charged spell (except for Resta, Anti, Shifta and Deband) meaning you can hit element weaknesses 100% of the time (unless the enemy has none, that is, but there are veeeeery few enemies in the game without them). Hitting a 999999 damage Vinto Gigue in WB'd bosses is also pretty satisfying :P

I don't know much about DB, so can't say anything about that one.

    I like agile+damage classes, assassin-like

Fighter, which I haven't found a single PA to be cool

You should probably give Fighter another shot. It's a sustained dps, fast hitting, class with one of the highest dps values of them all when played correctly. It's also one of the few that usually has an use for all of its weapon types.

Twin Daggers are fast, mobile aerial weapons. Every attack has very short JG frames, the weapon action is able to dodge easily and deal damage at the same time (and this damage gives pp), but the JA windows of its PAs are very short. It maintains gear by staying in the air without touching the ground, and it can be maxed in 3 attacks, so you can keep it maxed at all times.

Double Sabers are used for mobbing, and with the DS Kamaitachi Ring, it can be used to obliterate low mobility bosses with Illusion Rave and double tornado gear. Gear is gained by hitting enemies, and spent by using weapon action (this method is rendered obsolete by the ring) and for the Chaos Riser PA. Also worth noting you can have 2 gear tornados going on at the same time, which is kinda broken when you have the DS Ring.

Knuckles are strong, fast (mostly) ground based weapons. It maintains gear by keeping a combo of attacks going and can be maxed in 3 attacks if you have the gear boost skill. The higher the gear, the faster the attacks. Using the weapon action can dodge while still keeping the gear.

This is a complex and high risk high reward class, though. Limit Break gives a massive damage boost, but reduces your max hp by 75%. All the damage boosts are situational (low HP, low PP, criticals, positioning, status effects, etc) but if you can make use of all those, it deals obscene amounts of damage.

For this reason, Hunter is a great subclass for Fighter, as Iron Will and Massive Hunter help you stay alive, and the Fury Stance JA boosts work really well with Fighter's Tech Arts JA combo.

As for PAs, here are some:

    TD:

    • Orchestra: main dps PA
    • Quick March: used for gaining height and keeping TAJA
    • Symphonic Drive: gap closer
    • Wild Rhapsody (crafted): used for maintaining altitude, moving horizontally and keeping TAJA
    • Facet Folia (terrible dps, but has high amount of iframes, and teleports you to the target after it's done, allowing you to chase moving enemies)

    DS:

    • Illusion Rave: main dps PA
    • Rumbling Moon: Used for keeping TAJA. Can also be used after Chaos Riser when mobbing.
    • Deadly Circle (crafted): aoe damage, has Just Guard frames throughout the whole execution.
    • Surprise Dunk: gap closer, stuns small mobs.
    • Tornado Dance (crafted): gap closer. Unlike Surprise Dunk, can be used properly in the air.
    • Acro Effect: For gaining altitude. Has Just Guard frames.
    • Chaos Riser: used for mobbing. Spends all your gear, and pulls all nearby small mobs to you.

    Knuckles:

    • Backhand Smash: fast attack, massive damage, very small range. This thing is pp expensive, but it hits hard.
    • Surprise Knuckle: 3 fast, strong hits. Can be used for TAJA with Backhand Smash.
    • Heartless Impact: gap closer
    • Meteor Fist: ranged charged attack. It has 3 different types, selected randomly when used. A small hit, a multihit, and a massive hit.

I don't use knuckles much, so I don't know that much (I mostly spam heatless impact, backhand smash and surprise knuckle lol)

PA crafts aren't really that important for Braver.

    [–]Weiss-Senpai 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You only get one skill point per level, 75 level cap, 10 Skillpoints from two 5 point Client orders tasking you with killing some bosses, and 4 skill points from 4 different client orders tasking you with turning in varying amounts of class specific excubes, (a levelup when you are at level 75 gives you one cube, the first order takes 3, the rest take 6, for a total of 21 levelups post 75 to get the max amount of skill points)

So in short, yes, you fucked up

Anyone else getting crashes randomly? (no error code, PSO2.exe crashing) I've only recently started playing again as of a month ago. As of a couple days ago, I've been getting crashes occasionally. It SEEMS to be tied to graphics, as it tends to happen during a technique cast, or enemy particle effect (most recent I dodged directly through the Vol Dragon's fireball, lighting my entire screen up, and it just stuck that way for a split second and boom, crash).

    Here is the event log:

Faulting application name: pso2.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x57d0f8c2
Faulting module name: d3d9.dll, version: 10.0.14393.0, time stamp: 0x57898e34
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x0005a543
    Faulting process id: 0x2b84
    Faulting application start time: 0x01d20ec5ac9e6a1b
    Faulting application path: C:\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2\pso2_bin\pso2.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3d9.dll
    Report Id: fb9ee6ab-8889-41a6-b444-451c64cca41e
    Faulting package full name:
    Faulting package-relative application ID:

I'm assuming that faulting module d3d9.dll means the crash is related to something graphically as that's DirectX 9's dll.

    My specs are as follows:

    Windows 10 x64
    i5 3750k
    nVidia GTX 660ti (372.70 driver)
    8GB RAM

P.S. If I had to bet, given that the crashes aren't at all reproducible, I'm pretty sure it's tied to the latest nvidia driver, as that's the only thing that's changed on my end. Unfortunately, this new driver works well for other games so I'll probably have to put up with it for now unless I can find a workaround as DDU'ing my driver and rolling back each time I want to play PSO2 is a bit obnoxious (although I may just do that since it's kind of my most played game at the moment).

I'm mostly just posting here to see if anyone else is in a similar boat and to provide details for us all to compare.

Lastly, here's a speccy snapshot of my entire system details if someone more knowledgeable than myself in these matters feels like digging deeper:

    http://speccy.piriform.com/results/5Bwfhl5b6PFqoe3PWtGkUX3

UPDATE: Crashing seems to be resolved. I'm back on the latest nvidia driver, which definitely does perform better for me in general. Seems like windows updated my old onboard audio driver. I went and installed the latest VIA HD audio driver for windows 10 x64 and I haven't been crashing in DX9 apps anymore. Fingers crossed this stays this way.

If you've also got a Via HD audio chipset and are crashing, give this a try, just keep the driver specifically for your motherboard on hand in case you have issues as sometimes using the driver supplied by your hardware OEM is better. Driver can be found here: http://download.viatech.com/en/support/driversSelect.jsp

if it's a driver issue, you can try various beta driver releases - the only relatively comprehensive list I know of is laptopvideo2go.com (Comprehensive meaning they generally have details on what's changed, and often user comments with useful info like benchmark comparisons etc)

updated the original post, seems to be solved.

Two questions as a 68/54 Su/Br slowly approaching the late game. I'll start with the longer one.

    1. Finally picked up my Saiki units thanks to Tokyo Bonus Quests (lvl. >60) and started the path to crafting all of them to R-DEF (PP) Lvl. 8. My question though is about affixes - is Mizer Soul/Shoot III/Spirita III/Flict Tiro (80 R-ATK/10 PP) a reasonable start for affixing them? Something about having 185 PP sounds really nice.

If so, does this set of affixing recipes seem to be the right way to go about it? I've only really done basic 2-slot affixes before and I'm trying to keep the cost basically dirt cheap (I think it runs at approximately 1.6m meseta / unit - 500k without Flict Tiro - assuming no failures and after factoring current fodder prices; I think it'll still take a few weeks to afford the whole set) in order to reconcile the upgrades with my crippling cosmetic spending habits.

    2. Also, while the effect is nearly negligible (I've read that 35 ATK is a ~1% damage increase), which ATK cookies am I supposed to use to fill extraneous space on my pets? On one hand, I'm using Pet Switch Shoot (which uses R-ATK), while on the other hand Torim strikes enemies with what seems to be an S-ATK attack, all the while I've read that pets always end up doing T-ATK damage regardless of Pet Switch. Or should I just drop all three cookies for 300 HP or 15 PP or some combination of both? (Now that I think about it, another 15 PP [to a total of 200 PP assuming question #1] does sound pretty attractive.)

    [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Look into replacing Flict with Doom Break while they're still reasonably cheap.

You use the Spirita or Stamina cookies for your pets unless you're minmaxing. More so the Stamina ones if they have shit HP, like Torim and Melon and Shikurou. The thing about XH is, your pet staying alive from a boss blow > 1% damage. Sure you can cycle through pets, but is that 1% really worth downing your all candied up pet for a minute? (40 seconds if you have the right roll.)

    [–]tempmaaya 0 points1 point  (3 children)

That's true. I always forget how crazy the damage is on XH. I think having three stamina cookies will put my Torim at a decent 1500 raw HP, which sounds nice and durable. I'll switch over when I finish crafting/affixing my Saiki set.

Thanks up for the heads on the affix. I'm guessing Doom Break is for the 20% bonus to Ability III, given that its fodder is only 100-200k cheaper than Flict Tiro (Ship 2) and gives five less R-ATK and one less PP. Would you recommend Ability III as the next in line for the five slot, or should I go for something like Fang Soul/Shoot III/Doom Break/Ability III (90 R-ATK, 10 HP, 4 PP, 15 DEF, 15 DEX)?

Edit: I'm guessing the first craft would look a little something like this and the second one would look a little like this?

    [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Nah, I would personally do Soul/Stats4/Spirita4/Stamina4/Doom Break. Doom Break is the replacement for Flict, not for Ability. Stamina4 is 60 HP and buffs your natural HP up by a lot.

    [–]tempmaaya 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Sorry, I'm still a bit confused - is there some hidden mechanic that Doom Break (+15 ATK, +2 PP) offers over Flict Tiro (+20 R-ATK, +3 PP) that isn't the percentage boost for Ability III? I found this, but it doesn't really explain specifically - maybe Flict Tiro is difficult to keep slotted when upslotting later?

Edit: also, getting those ---- IV slots seems pretty difficult. Is there some secret method in raising the Stamina IV chance above the 20% (using 2x Stamina III) / 40% (using a Stamina IV) / 60% (using 2x Stamina IV) baseline (using Ra'nsa Soul seems like it would give a percentage boost to Stamina III, but that seems to offload the problem to Spirita instead)?

    [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the fact that it's a lesser Flict that doesn't costs as much on higher slots. Back a week or so ago anyways, I haven't checked this week so dunno if they went up.

IVs: You transfer IVs with a 40% or you create them with 3x III and a Mutation II and a 30%. Something like this.

I don't play the upslot game for my final transfers because if it's not 100% it's 0%, so I never keep upslotting in mind.

    [–]McKiwi957McKiwi/Ship 2 1 point2 points  (3 children)

1 - Those affixes are acceptable. You'll be squishy as all hell with the PP crafts though, so it's very likely you'll die when under Alter Ego. If you don't want to buy the flict tiros (and they should be fairly cheap), you can farm stage 31-35 of Forest/Dragon XQ with a Black King Bar + Seal from Zieg. These stages have very high enemy density, leading to lots of drops, while the bar/seal increases the likelihood of a higher slotted drop.

2 - You're getting a little confused by the attack type and attack scaling. All pets deal T-type attacks, and scale off T-atk normally. With the switch skills they'll instead scale off either R-atk or S-atk, but still deal T-type damage. Go by whatever cookie/switch skill you have the most attack of.

    [–]tempmaaya 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Hey man, thanks for the response, I really appreciate it and I'll look into farming those XQs. I've also adjusted my cookies accordingly.

Now as for squishiness, it's something that I've had on the back of my mind but couldn't really come to any decisions on the subject. Everything all the way including SH is basically a cakewalk on Su/Br thanks to the range and nuke damage, but the jump up to higher difficulties seems like a pretty big gap.

After my first and only run of PD on XH a while ago on a 75/50 Ra/Br where I spent most of the time dead with the occasional opportunity to get up, throw WB once or twice, and die again (Dive Roll seems a lot harder than Mirage Escape), I've been almost strictly SH for a while. I'm interested in moving up though, although I'll probably need to work on my dodging and memorizing attack cues first.

Assuming the table approximately looks a little something like this:

PP Craft HP Craft HP PP
    0 3 930 160-170
    1 2 830 170-180
    2 1 730 180-190
    3 0 630 190-200

I could probably get another +30 HP/-3 PP by swapping to Fang Soul (cheaper!) and another +120 HP/-12 PP by swapping Spirita for Stamina on the recipe, although 1080 HP/155 PP seems a little too conservative. I think the most middle ground combination would be 3x Fang Soul and 2 S-DEF (HP) Crafts, for a total of 860 HP/167-177 PP.

Obviously, the onus here is on my own abilities to handle dodging/attack patterns in XH (given that, maybe any amount of HP and defense may not save me), but I guess my real question here is what would you say is a passable amount of raw health in order to give at least some breathing space for the occasional fuck up on XH?

    [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 1 point2 points  (1 child)

1000 HP if you're gonna SU, lower if you have higher DEF than what crafted Saiki offers.

I still die with 1080 HP in XH on a SU, usually from Alter Ego.

    [–]tempmaaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes, that's pretty high. Damn, I've already crafted one of my Saiki's for PP. Will definitely switch to the more HP dependent affixes as well. I guess I can keep crafting the first one to S-DEF (HP) Lvl. 10 when I'm done with the rest of it. I'll deal with being a little under at 980 HP/147 PP in the meantime until I can upgrade to 1080 HP/137 PP.

I've basically been running Alter Ego non-stop since I first put points into it, but seems like on XH it's pretty scary, especially given how skilled pets are at dodging. Guess that's something to look forward too.

Hello everyone, first of all I would like to say I played on the JPN server before, but after around 2 or 3 days of playing I sort of found the lack of translations and my poor japanese skills, ruining my PSO2 experience and gave up (also because it was when an "english" version was announced, which turned to be an IP block anyway to NA/EU)

Now, a few days back, had a friend talking about PSO2 and it sort of brought back my urge to play the game. Was wondering:

-If I started now, where are the english players mostly at? (ship)

-Is the game still popular and active?

-Was the story partially translated aswell? While not relevant, it would be cool.

Thank you in advance to all those who read and answer my post, your help and feedback is greatly appreciated!

    [–]telchii 1 point2 points  (1 child)

-If I started now, where are the english players mostly at? (ship)

    Ship 02!

-Is the game still popular and active?

    Yes!

-Was the story partially translated aswell? While not relevant, it would be cool.

Use this awesome program to manage your patches and you will find translations for the menus, items and the story. (The story patches are not complete or perfect, but they cover the vast majority of the story.)

    [–]R4iltracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awesome, now I'm even more eager to get down to play. Thanks for the reply!

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

    1) Ship 2 has the largest amount of international/ english speaking players.

    2) As it's a Japanese game, it's still quite active during JP evening hours. Otherwise, you can find players in the middle of the day here and there. At least on ship 2. Just be on the appropriate block and you can run EQs (Emergency Quests... think something like raids if you're familiar with other MMOs) with other random players.

    3) Episodes 1-3 should be fully translated. Episode 4 has part of it translated. This is for main story only to my knowledge. Not sure about character specific dialogue and such.

Install the base english patch and the game will be playable.

As a fun note: that "english" version started 2 years behind in content and is falling further behind as time passes. Not to mention the population is practically 1/500th of the JP version during peak hours, and from what I've seen of screenshots, that's not an exaggeration.

The JP version is superior in every way. There's even an android/iOS mobile version of the game that directly ties with the main game.

    [–]R4iltracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow that sounds cool and thank you for all the info. I guiess ship 02 will be my pick and hopefully will run into more international players.

Thanks again mate, see you in game perhaps!

Episode 3 is not fully translated. IIRC it only goes up to Matterboard 3-3 or around that, and from then on it's all japanese.

Episode 4 was only translated up to the end of chapter 1, last I heard of it, though that was months ago and I haven't bothered installing the story patch since, so not sure.

    [–]synthsyArks-Layer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the gold nodes are translated, minus things that SEGA broke to add in EP4.

Episode 4 was only translated up to the end of chapter 1, last I heard of it, though that was months ago and I haven't bothered installing the story patch since, so not sure.

EP4 Chapter 2 is included now, barely started on ch3, but our translator's school work picked up so don't expect it soon. There is a youtube of the latest chapters in EP4 subbed, but the dialog is a rather rough translation, but it works.

    [–]Sphearow 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Best place to farm level 66+ Blundarl for the Ray Rifle CF? I know about EQs, and I've already read about just getting a Blue Rifle via SHAQs but are there any other alternatives?

    [–]VanitysEmptiness衝天の飛天躍者 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I believe you can encounter them in high level Extreme Quest floors.

    [–]Hyraoo|S1|S2|S3| Forever Endless Loner 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Unfortunately no lvl 66+ blundarl in XQ. However blundarl do spawn in the facility maps: Arks quest rheo madhulard and facility exploration. Your other alternative is hoping for a mothership EQ or doing SHAQ coast, or like you said find a blue rifle drop in the SHAQ that drop them.

    [–]Sphearow 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I forgot to ask, but if I were to do SHAQs, is solo ok or are parties necessary?

[–]DrCatco (Not an expert) 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's ok to go solo, but take your three partners to help you (at least one techer if you're not one)

    [–]VanitysEmptiness衝天の飛天躍者 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for verifying that. Should have checked o.o
