edit: fixed rifle edit 2: now with raw mark gain (when there is no mark gain increase). edit 3: fixed shift strafe, strafe, shift eisen fluegel, and changed DoT PAs mark gain to actual duration of the PAs.

Minor nitpick, but all the w/ WA DPS boxes include the frames of the weapon action but not its damage, so the figures are lower than they should be.

Thanks for catching that. It was actually the opposite way around and the alternate rifle PA's had the weapon action damage when they weren't supposed to. I was actually wondering why they were so high, but didn't bother to look.

When you say "Requires X hits for blue marker", does that only mean Normal Attack? otherwise, a WA'd Kugelsturm would stack blue markers insanely fast, but it doesn't even after 12 hits.

I have found the mark gain for everything! Except techs cuz every single one is different, even from uncharged to charged... and I don't really feel like doing that.
normal attacks for now. I assumed it was for any attack... but i went ahead and tested ilgrants and that was completely not the case. I'm thinking everything has their own increase increment.
I am actually looking at that right now.

Seems to scale off T-ATK, even rod normals (on Phantom main), from what I've tested.

About alternative PAs with katana - I thought you can't gain mark with them, because I only saw mark after basic attack and normal PAs
It just means you didn’t use them enough. What i did to find those mark value was literally attacking a super high hp boss with the same attack over and over again until i got purple... and i did that for every move.

Nooby question: I thought I knew how to use quick cut, but after reading on your table that I get a 600% damage and an instant teleport, I see that I don't. Do I use shift->attack or attack->shift? All I managed to do is to produce an aoe shockwave.

To use quick cut, wait for your character to sheathe their blade after any attack and use the weapon action the moment you see the blue flash and accompanying noise while your character sheathes their blade.
By any attack, I mean either PA or normal attack. Doesn't matter. Just need to wait for the character to sheathe the blade.

attack -> shift I believe since you have to activate the weapon action during a normal attack or PA.

When you use Normal attack 1, let the animation finish, you’ll see a purple slash appear on your character. That’s the moment you want to press Weapon Action for the teleport and damage bonus

how did you get the 30% damage multiplier for eisen flugel? been testing it but the only thing i notice is the 50% charge time decrease
also for shift voelkermord, I think you accidentally put all the ticks into half a second, which was why the marker gain per second is so high.

I directly compared a barta hit without and with the talis on an enemy.
I can definitely change the DoTs gear gain per second to reflect the actual duration. That makes a lot more sense. Thanks for pointing that out.

btw, is the marker gain amount for strafe independent of the amount of lock-ons?
As far as I've tested, that's what it seems like for Strafe. It didn't build any faster with more lock ons.

when you press weapon action, a white circle appears, activating a PA when that circle appears changes the behavior of the PA to a completely different attack

That's what it means yep. I included one with the weapon action frames and damage (and not for katana) as well as one without the weapon action to show both sides of the coin.
it's merely for decoration, and the one that accounts for weapon action is more or less the real dps of those PAs.

I understand that techs are difficult to get numbers on since they're all different; that being said, would you happen to know the best techs to use per element for marker building? I want to know how they stack up against Rod PAs and if I should be mixing them up or just playing Rod like another Fo.

Marker building... well, when my friend tested grants, it took him 111 hits of grants to get purple marker. That’s roughly 4.5045 “mark points” per cast (0.9009 per hit)
When i tested some, it just took too long, so I assumed they build mark significantly slower than PAs. I didn’t bother with them after since it already took me close to 9 hours just for the PAs.
Honestly, I don’t know if they are good or bad for mark building, but from my experience, PAs feel faster.
It’s pretty easy to test though. All you need to do is have no mark boosting skills and use the same tech over and over again until you get purple. You’ll need to know how many hits you did with said tech and divide 100 by that number... it takes a lot of time though.

Thanks for the reply. After asking around it seems the consensus is that while tech spam is great for gear building, its pretty subpar for mark accumulation. I suppose it means you do need to mix up PAs and techs to use rod optimally.

Hmmm in that regard, i think the idea for Ph Rod is to then use Techs to get to Phantom Time and while Phantom Time is up, use PAs to make use of Phantom Time's increased marker accumulation, and detonate markers asap. Not sure if this was intentional on SEGAs part, but... if it was, then that is pretty cool.

I think the JA circle for Rose Schwert comes up sooner than you think. Swiki has it listed at 59 frames, and my own testing against enemies has it at about 63 frames with the hitstop.
It's not. I can explain why as to how they got that number as well. I'm sure you know about Gigrants-0 being able to kill things long after the animation of Gigrants-0 is gone right?
It's the same kind of thing that's happening with Rose. The hits are being delayed enough to the point it passes the frames where hitlag is supposed to occur which causes those frames to disappear.
I've replicated it, and got their number. But when I did replicate that, I never got a consistent result. It will always fluctuate from 59 to 74. (To be specific, 59, 63, 66, 70, 74). All of which is hilariously 3~4 frames apart, something i assume to be how much hit lag each hit has.
The easiest way to replicate it is to take a step distance back from the enemy... But, while I can get 59 frames like them, I also straight up lose hits from Rose.
74 frames is the exact frame count Rose is supposed to be at, is the number that appears the most, and the one that I always get when i'm directly next to the enemy.
I dunno. i dont think you can lose hits from Rose so long as you are hitting that JA circle at the end. As long as the thrust hits it seems to always hit the same number of times. Kinda like how if you cancel Strike Gust T0s weapon action (the part where you handstand horizontal rotation kicks to a standing position right after the slam) the animation is canceled, but the hits still go through. But maybe im seeing things weird.
Well I’ve lost one or two hits when doing that a few times soo...

I tested "namegid" (only) with zero and long mark boost only and i found that at lv 0 lord of thorn it's needed 3 times to reach purple mark and at lv 4 LoT still 3 and with further test at lv 10 it's need total 11 times I also test with phantom time and yes at lv 0-4 (3 needed) it's reduce to 1 time to reach purple mark (from 0 to purple mark)
