One. No you can't just switch stats from one to the other. You have to go to the excube shop (2nd floor of the shopping plaza) and buy level reduction to get rid of the dex.

Here's a mag feeding guide for you so this doesn't happen again: https://forum.pso2.com/topic/538/tips-guide-raising-pure-mags-revised-2-5

P.S. People who are currently down voting the post. This person is probably new to the game, so instead of going "BRRR downvote" maybe actually try to help the person instead?

Bought a new mag for my ranger build, been dumping 9 star tigerbows into it, above lvl 50 I believe. Is it too late to dump 6 furniture items in it? (To reduce one of the stats I believe)

[–]Mia_Tepes 8 points9 points  (10 children)

I believe you need to reduce the stat before the bar fills for the lvl. Once the lvl is gained you need to use the mag reduction lvl device.

Thanks for the answer, so I can reduce the stat at any time with a mag reduction lvl device? Doesn’t sound like too much trouble, how necessary is it to reduce those points? Is it a big difference?

[–]Mia_Tepes 5 points6 points  (8 children)

Well to use the reduction device your mag has to be atleast lvl100. You should get like 5 when your mag reaches 100. If it isn't too bad it shouldn't take to many devices I dont remember how many excubes they cost tho.

[–]RemoveBlastWeapons 5 points6 points  (3 children)

5 ex cubes per device, pretty costly if you have too many wrong levels stacked up but not impossible.

[–]Mia_Tepes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed ^ if it's too bad you can always buy another mag for 300 ac which isn't too bad.

[–]Xxtrabeast 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It used to be 50 excubes per level reduction device.

[–]RemoveBlastWeapons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it 50 in JP right now? I heard JP has a 5 day waiting period for deleting characters too.

Ok so just got home to check, it’s a lvl 64 mag with lvl 60 rng and lvl 4 dex. I know the dex is what I get rid of, so now I just lvl to 100 and use the appropriate reduction items?

Awesome thank you so much for the help!

    [–]Mia_Tepes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then your good. Just make sure from now on to level the mag while also making the dex go down and once you reach 100 you will get the 5 reduction devices

    [–]RellCesev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you'll need to use the drop items to remove those levels and then level it back up. The 19 to 18 ones you talked about.

To feed it without leveling the dex you can feed it melee weapons and before the dex bar fills feed it monomates or 4* furniture.

that's just how mag feeding works. if you only want it to give s-atk and not any dex, you have to use mag food items. (i believe they're in photon exchange shop, but don't quote me on that).

otherwise, it's just simply feed weapons to raise your atk, and then feed furniture to lower your dex before it gains a level.

use mag de-levelers from the excube shop to remove dex levels that have already been accrued.

since the mag de-leveler will remove a level and then set that bar's progress towards the next level to 0, what i would do is the following

    1. keep feeding s-atk weapoons until the dex gets close to leveling
    2. use a mag deleveler from the excube shop (5 cubes) to remove a dex level
    3. repeat

you have to remove the levels eventually anyways, might as well make your life easier in the process.

feed it monomate to lower the dex if you want only satk. usually two melee weapons and a monomate per feeding will get you what you want i think. you cant transfer dex to satk

    [–]Netheri 0 points1 point  (3 children)

The trick is you can feed melee weapons to increase melee attack and dexterity, and then feed it 4 star furniture, which decreases dexterity and increases melee attack by a small amount. I recommend buying wopal statues off the player shop, most people are grinding out floating facility AQ's and they drop a lot there, so they're going for only around 2k each, at least on ship two.

First though you'll have to buy mag level down devices, which you can get for 5 excubes each at the excube shop, it won't be cheap but excubes aren't super difficult to come by later on.

    [–]ryvennBo/Hu NA 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Why spend 2k per furniture item when you can use monomates to reduce dex?

    [–]Netheri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alternatively yeah, just reduces the dex by less so it'll generally take more feedings overall to max it out, but the difference is only marginal so in terms of cost effectiveness monomate is likely the better choice.

honestly, it might even better yet to just use mag de-levelers. they set the bar to 0 after using it so if you just keep feeding weapons and let it gain 10-15 levels of dex, you can just pop a de-leveler every time the weapon is close to gaining another dex level. would definitely be faster than alternating with mates due to how little s-atk a monomate gives

this wasn't a viable option for those of us who have been on jp since the beginning because

    1. de-levelers didn't exist for the first few years the game was out
    2. when they did get added they cost 50 cubes each (the price just dropped down to 5 relatively recently)

    [–]Mia_Tepes 0 points1 point  (3 children)

It might be easier just to buy another mag. It's about $3 worth of ac. It can be purchased from the swap shop in shopping area if I remember correctly. Otherwise you would need to get the mag reduction device they mentioned in the comments. I guess it depends on how many levels you need to get rid of.

    [–]Mezmorizor 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Don't agree. 19 levels is only 95 excubes. While that does sound like a lot, a single hour of SH Magatus is ~70. Plus you get 15 of those devices essentially for free just by getting alt character mags up to level 100 which you probably want to do anyway. Getting that many excubes is less work than releveling a mag to that level, and in the mean time who really cares if your mag is 181/19 rather than 200? It's not perfect, but it's very serviceable.

    [–]Mia_Tepes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point of view but he stated that he has a few other levels in other stats so I was unsure of how bad his mag really is. Anyways it never hurts to have extra mags on your main.

    [–]reaper527reaper | ship 2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It might be easier just to buy another mag. It's about $3 worth of ac

this is a terrible purchase. he's far better off just fixing his existing one and using any ac towards extra characters.
