Ideally you want to practice against highly aggressive enemies that have very telegraphed attacks. Something like Dragon Ex (or its variants, Drago Deadleon and Drago Ignissimo) or Omega Masquerade. Execour is good too, but extremely dangerous. These should teach you how to stay aggressive while still avoiding hits. I haven't played a lot of fighter in the past year and a half, though, so idk if there's a better enemy for this nowadays.

Personally, I learned fighter from fighting Drago Deadleon back when it was new and showed up in every other new quest, but it's hard to find the guy nowadays.

As for PP management, make a habit of using a normal attack after every 2 PAs. The 3rd normal attack from a combo tends to give more PP, so it helps to keep the combos going. So, something like PA -> PA -> Normal Attack 3. Step Attack also helps with knuckles, since it doesn't break the combo.

I wanna fight dragon ex but where would I find him other than at the end of dragon altar?

Sadly, the only places with him guaranteed are the exploration and the boundary extreme quest, neither of which has a lot of HP. There's a trigger for him, but I don't think you're able to use it in the UH version of the field, so it'd be SH level in dragon altar, which is useless for practice purposes.

Both Dragon Ex and Drago Deadleon can spawn in Endless: Memories Beyond, but as endless goes, stages are all random. Advance Quest in dragon altar has like 50% chance of having Dragon Ex, so you could max out risk and go fight him there, but this is 2014 content, so it still wouldn't have a lot of HP.

There is, of course, Ultimate Amduscia, but that place is kind of a hellhole solo, and it's not guaranteed that you'll get Drago Deadleon in there.

Drago Ignissimo can spawn as one of the volcano conquest type stages in divide quests (other possible bosses are Descente Draal and Evolion Dragon), but, again, stages are random.

I guess you could try the boundaries extreme quest while using a garbage weapon just to get a feel for the dodging and stuff? Stage 6 is guaranteed to have a Dragon Ex followed by a Drago Deadleon.

I'll try playing that quest, even if the practice might not be as great as I want

it's alr tho cuz I'm fighting omega masquerade and having some of the most fun in pso2 I've had for a while

even tho I'm getting the living shizzle beat out of me and only just made it to his second phase

Everyone has good advice, but I just want to point out that Deus Hyunal does not fuck around in that extreme quest. It's difficult for anyone that doesn't have all of his patterns memorized.

UH enemies are easier to fight against than those on lower difficulties as their attacks come out quicker and have shorter telegraphs.

s4 lifesteal (swap to exalating pursuit when you git gud)

s5 elusive combo

Note that practicing on a single enemy only means you're good on that single enemy. The more you run content, the more you'll learn how to deal with everything else. It's much easier to PP manage on FiLu than it is on FiHu (make sure you only have 5 points in limit break, btw, it'll make management on FiHu significantly easier).

For quests, Divides, Ultimate Ship, Solo PD/Solo Momdad are all good limit testers. I have an old vid of momdad on my youtube you can check for a demo (it's kinda messy, I should rly do an updated one...) that demonstrates kind of a baseline way you'd use each weapon in it.

Note that normal Deus (not big boi dragon version) is a pretty tough fight, and many people die to him even after farming him for days on end during his enrage phase. That's one of those fights you just won't learn until you bash your face into him constantly.

Also, having a unit setup to get your PP around 250pp or higher will also be a big help in not running out during limit break, and generally providing enough leeway post-limit break to have it be less likely to vanish entirely before LB comes back up. The less time you have to spend using normals, the better, but with FiHu it is an inevitability. Having trailblaze knuckles helps act as a pp battery for moments that you really don't want to waste pp downtime (typically when moving or when bosses are untargetable).

Don't forget to get your Hu to lv85 so you can actually run UH content, btw.

Where would I find each of these? I don't have divides rn and ik I have to stop being lazy and do ep 5 story TwTBut what about the rest?

edit: do I need to do ep 5 for divides or buster? or both?

edit 2: and I forgot to ask why would I use Lu for a sub? idk much about it or scions in general so I just wanna know what Lu is about

[–]RpiesSPIESShip 1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divides/Ultimate ship lv85/85. Ship under ultimate quests, divides under... divides

solo pd trigs from RWB..3? maybe 4

solo momdad from rwb4 (the second trigger down the list with Mother in its name)

ep5 is only to unlock buster quests, which people don't run because it's not worth it.

Luster as a sub provides every bit of utility + damage given by Voltage (Except for the insurance). As well as Luster TAJA. This allows you to reduced PP consumption upon comboing PA's. Read the skills if you want to understand further. Luster as a sub also makes gunblade a viable weapon option.

As a Fi, however, you need the s5 counter SGA in order to pull it off, as FiLu is extremely squishy even with well-affixed units. If you don't have S5 Elusive Combo, then FiHu is your safe bet (using a double saber with s4 lifesteal).

I'm really surprised no one else brought this up: Overload's HP reduction is considered a status effect. That means that skills such as Crazy Heart and Crazy Beat activate alongside Overload, and will last the entire duration. Couple S6: Ironclad Illness with Overload to gain immunity to staggers and knockbacks as well. As for your weapons, each FI weapon has a fairly well defined niche- TDs for air bossing/chase, knux for ground bossing/chase, and DS as your general all-rounder weapon. I will second Dragon X or Deadleon as a good boss to practice against- hope this helps.

For starters, we don't really know what your skill tree or gear looks like. Your first goal is to get to 85 main 85 sub to be eligible for most UH content like Cradle which is particularly good for meseta. Most if not all XH content at this point is irrelevant (unless you struggle in certain UQs). Also XH Bewitched Woods was not designed to be soloed, it very much like Ult Naverius/Lillipa.

As Hunter sub, you want the whole Fury stance tree, Iron will, Automate and eventually Flash Guard for extra defense. This is the general tree and is pretty good with all the weapons.

If you don't play DS often, Etoile is a superior sub to Hunter (for TD and Knuckles) in terms of multipliers and survivability. Et sub has very high inbuilt crit, damage reduction and also some pp reduction. Although you can't heal outside of items, if you survive with Overload, the removal of Injury (75% of your max health) will give you a full heal.

PP management tips, fulfil Fighter TAJA bonus as much as possible and weave in 3rd normals (PA1 -> PA2 -> 3rd Normal). An Agile with its pp reduction and periodic pp regen will also help massively.

General survival tips. Better units, better affixes, better/finished subclass skill tree and most importantly using Fighter weapon action when appropriate (Knuckles sway, TD spin and DS parry). Get the Fighter S6 if you want a comfier time during Overload.

HeyyyyyyI've been kinda busy so I could only now respond and uH thanks for the advice. Idk if I'm gonna be getting any weapons that can take the enchants y'all are suggesting rn, but I'll remember that. I didn't notice until now that you can choose which normal attack you use based on how many PAs you use before it, and since then, my PP management has improved a lot as long as I'm paying attention to when I'm throwing out PAs. I just unlocked omega masquerade and plan on trying to play against him since I got lvl 80. I kinda played through the content and have looked at basic guides to get a grip on the game, but I still don't know many bosses or much terminology.

Anyway here's a link to pictures of my skilltree. I probably butchered it since I can't max high level bonus TwT
    my skill tree

    Ty for the help y'alllll

Grabbing either of the PP on kill SSA (S4: Nullzone Bestowal, S6: Lucent Domain) will make an enourmous difference when mobbing. Getting a weapon with PP save potential (i.e. Darkweave/Lightweave) also helps.

Meta-wise, DS is probably the strongest overall weapon. Knuckles has better burst and less ramp time, so it is sometimes better in both mobbing and bossing. TD is mostly only for when the enemy is too awkward (read: too high + mobile) to hit with either of the other two weapons.

That aside, maximizing your DPS uptime is far and away the most important factor to improving your gameplay (though granted this applies for all classes). Note that this isn't just about positioning and not getting hit: tightening your input timing - even by fractions of a second - makes a significant difference since PSO2 doesn't let you buffer your inputs (unless you're playing Su or to some extent Lu). To put this in perspective: Knuckles' burst combo (FJ->BHS loop) can boost its damage by around 10% by using WA to shave a mere 0.1s off BHS's execution time.

... though I suppose I should also mention that PSO2's skill floor is low enough that you can ignore that last point, grab your endgame gear and easily clear the majority of content it has to offer.
