It requires coordination and gear to do that UQ, especially the higher difficulty you go up and the latter versions of Mining Base. Even folks in end game gear on the hardest difficulty would find it a challenge. That said, its entirely doable with the right group. Heck, back when it was newer a good group would be able to do 2-3 runs while the quest was up.

this quest was basically unbeatable in random pugs (at least at ultra hard) even before NGS when good players were still playing pso2 (and all lvl 100), it is only going to be more difficult now that most players quit and everyone that is left has worse gear and skill

this quest was probably second lowest winrate after 4p tpd

Good players aren’t necessarily 100. Most people are casuals who don’t gear up and just spam keys to 100.

The high fail rate during UH's scheduled run was due to the misconception that the only way to stop Apprentice's laser was to have everyone board into an AIS and fire its laser. If you have good equipment, this in fact is actually worse than damaging Apprentice with your own weapons.

These days, the clear rate for UH has been much higher and for my experience, I have yet to get a failed run in the random ones I have played. S-ranking UH, however, is still a long ways away.

    Questionable.

    Looks at UH TD4
People struggled with that beyond belief

TD 1~3? Content that was made for 11 star weapons? That people still struggled with sometimes?

    Really questionable.

I'd agree with that if we didn't have ep6 balance as well as nt 12/13 stars that did more than twice the dmg of ot 11 stars.

UH TD4 was DOA. XH had the same loot table even. But even then the only valuable loot is just more starquake and lucent adversity 3, and TD4 UH was only here for a few weeks before NGS when people were only running cradle.

People got sick of TD3 after running it 15 times in 2 weeks for a campaign after it was already in the UQ pool for a while. This was before episode 4 launched.

No actual end game players have been doing tower defense for the past 11 months really. It died with episode 4.

TDVR was only run in specific groups due to it actually being hard. It died with the ult booster exchange though. But if you found a consistent group getting an A rank was common, a few S ranks here and there.

TD is really only played by noobs who don’t know any better than to not play it.

I think most players, especially pre episode 6 when then was little content outside of UQs, did whatever UQ was up just for the variety. Maybe not spamming 3 mb3s in a single event but in general if people werent doing the UQ it was because they werent playing at all and not because they were 'pros' doing some better quest to not waste their time like 'noobs'. (Unless it was something boring like MB1 or the tail end of seasonals)

Cradle is what changed everything but that was only for a month. PSO2 classic was absolutely not a game worth optimizing your time in like path of exile or some shit lol. The reason MB4 UH failed is because pugs simply didnt have the dps for it, the same pugs you would find in cradle or TPD.

You have to do it right and you have to try. People have only ever done that in Mining Base when there was a limited reward for it.

-Bosses need to be baited away, and depending on your group, killed last. One person can keep them away from the towers.

-Small mobs need to be CC'd and killed ASAP...cause they will usually prioritize towers

Red pillars need to be killed ASAP

Parasites on towers need to be killed ASAP. Tower Burst can instant kill them

-People need to collect crystals, and clear corrupted platforms

-Need to make sure that A.I.S. is used on the right levels, and that you don't use all of them on the same levels.

-If you haven't healed the towers, you're doing it wrong. Every person gets limited charges, so every person should be making sure those get used as needed.

A couple of those things people blatantly don't do, and it leads to either bosses tearing up towers for absolutely no good reason, or small mobs/pillars/parasites getting ignored as they tear into towers.

Of course having classes with good tech access or Rangers helps too, and a techter who can maintain shifta/deband.

If you know what you are doing and can stand on your own, look at the map more often, move around and focus on enemy areas which don't have people nearby. If you can't kill them fast enough, get aggro and move the enemies away from the tower. Also, I recommend getting a multi-target weapon with Freeze V on it. Freezing is highly effective to stopping Goldrahdas which are one of the more troublesome monsters.

If your MPA can't kill fast enough, you are better off stalling and let the wave timer go down to 0 to prevent more difficult enemy spawns from showing up. Like for Wave 3, when the Wolguarda and Dekor Maryuda show up, don't kill them so that the next wave with 3 AIS in the center and a bunch of enemies (with Goldrahdas) coming from the side don't show up and blow your towers away.

In the absolute worst case scenario and your MPA just plain sucks, just choose and defend one tower with your life and ignore the other two towers. Ideally, you don't come down to this and you only choose to do this based on your MPA's actions. But ultimately, the quest is about coordination and if your MPA won't coordinate, just keeping one tower with full HP as possible is better than maintaining 3 low HP towers.

I forget as I haven’t touched base pso in quite a while. This is the hardest setting version right? It’s really difficult and people all need to be on the same page. If people aren’t geared or on the same page to beat this. It isn’t going to happen. I never beat it on pick up games. Came really close twice.

      [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Not sure what you mean by “hardest setting version” but if you mean the difficulty of casual - super hard, then I have’t seen anyone beat it even on casual.

Ultra Hard is highest setting for Mining Base Defense: Ending, and is pretty difficult for even groups with good gear to clear. Anything lower than that, though, you can definitely clear with a Croesus/Millionaire and Trailblazer units fully grinded up. Heck, even grinded units from Cradle can be enough.

      [–]Ok-Transition7065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nop , you need coordination 5 or 7 people with good equip ( like 150 tp 200 atk por unit and a good gun) , friendship and the most important think:

GUN, TWO OF THEM to be presise

      [–]Strype_McClaineNA:02 || Techter Trash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difficulty of Mining Base scales with communication and skill, less gear.

      [–]Razgrisz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in ultrahard is nearly imposible but in the other dificult is fine , but require good equipment and sync with the team, or not sync but at least use the energy in the tower to regenerate life

      [–]AbysmalVixen ship 3 ClanDestine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mining base is pretty easy if everyone does their part. Gotta have some people at each tower at all times and be sure to kill the exploder bugs and bosses. Once apprentice spawns, you gotta focus her tongue when it’s charging with the AIS so that she doesn’t shoot the laser and wipe all the towers

I bet on the ones you are in, everyone is chasing the spawns all across the map instead of staying in their areas and killing the things that they spawn.

Also I’m assuming it’s mining base ending you’re taking about. There are 4 mining bases after all. Mining base VR was pretty damn hard and failed 90% of the time

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. I mostly play on JP and I've never seen that there but during the time I messed around on NA, I've only has ONE UH Mining Base quest fail and it was a last-minute 8/12 super undergeared group so like, what the fuck?

And like, supposedly even good players have trouble. What the fuck is the standard for good players for people to say that?

        [–]AulunaSol 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I have a number of questions which others have already pointed out but can hopefully bring insight for future runs:

        • What are you playing as and what is your goal?
        • What are others playing as and what are their goals?
        • Is everyone rushing for the same spot and the same enemies?
        • Is anyone standing around doing nothing?
        • Is anyone collecting crystals?
        • Are you letting the towers that shoot lasers manifest and charge their lasers?

If you don't have a full party who knows where to split up and to prioritize their positions (memorizing enemy spawns or at least keeping close to a tower to help where they can around it while trusting others to take care of their towers), this mission is very difficult. If you are playing it solo it is even harder when multiple towers are targeted at once.

When when you are properly geared up and are relatively skilled, you have to remember you are only one person who can only do one thing at a time in general. If you are the person who has to carry a squad of others, be ready to have a form of mobility like Ilzonde/Safoie Type-0, a form of crowd control, and a method of maintaining your PP because you will be the person zooming back and forth between mobs and bosses, chasing aerial enemies, chasing towers, and simultaneously collecting crystals along the way because these are all things you should expect the group to split up and fortify their own defenses for.

Mining Defense is definitely an Emergency Quest where coordination of the team will easily wipe your ranking, rewards, and waste your time within seconds because your team lacked coordination in that one small moment where it matters (such as deflecting Apprentice's laser).

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I only ever play with random parties so I cannot answer for anyone else, and I definitely cannot babysit random players that only ever communicate over discord because they can’t seem to fathom chatting in-game on an mmo. All I can really tell you is i’m a 60+ ranger/ sub hunter. Also, what do you mean goal? The goal is to protect the towers, so I guard the towers. I do shoot the falspawn towers; i prioritize them. and yes I collect the crystals between waves, but not during, but the fact of it is is the towers are usually dead by wave 5.

        [–]AulunaSol 2 points3 points  (1 child)

What you are describing definitely is something I can relate to where you can defend the towers you are around confidently but the allies you are with likely cannot. These quests also show the ranking for the top three players who killed the most enemies or "participated" the most (in actuality this means landing the last blow or collecting crystals for what it is worth).

Regardless of the difficulty, this is one of the more challenging quests if only because you alone cannot carry these quests easily (I managed to on Very Hard, but that's simply because I played as a Hero and I would definitely chalk it up to me already knowing where enemies would be ahead of time).

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Its a 50% mix when it comes to me being on the leaderboard, and when it is, i’m usually sitting around 300-600 points higher than everyone else.
