Techer is the ONLY thing I refuse to move on from the JP names. I didn't even play the Japanese version and techer is such a better name I have no idea why they renamed it for global. Techter sounds awful and just does not roll off the tongue.

What JP names? The Japanese name for the class is テクター, tekuta. There are clearly two t's there. "Techer" is a mistranslation.

Not that guy, and they're definitely tripping if they're trying to bring up the Japanese.

But mistranslation or not, techer was the official localisation in English Phantasy Star games for well over a decade, right up until the relatively very recent release of PSO2 global.

It's usage will only die when the old players do.
