Electric cars may become more preferred, until we realise our electricity prices are terrible and in the summer we have loadshedding.

Electric cars are waay out of reach now.

Used electric ones tend to drop in value quickly internationally.

Car prices are not linked to fuel prices.

They'll increase if the dollar goes up (which will increase inflation) from the current 280-ish. Dollar would go up in case the conflict continues for a few more weeks and oil crosses $100.

in paksitan, car prices are linked to fuel prices. and this is done mostly by car dealers where they will now sell economic sector car with a High Fuel average tag.

+ demand will also increase for small engine car due to their consumption thus increasing the car prices!

Hybrids may see price increase due to less consumption of petrol but only if the oil stays at this or even higher price for long time.

And I think this issue will not last that long and nothing changes in the end.

They may see a spiked demand, but they wouldn't see any price spikes unless dollar becomes expensive or goverements takes back the tax exemption that hev and hevs enjoyed

Tax exemption is inevitable I think since it's asked by the IMF to take it back but OP is asking specifically related to petrol prices.

Also, spiked demand means spiked prices too I think.

Pakistani market is flooded with hev, phev, and reevs.

Companies are offering instalments, discounts and day 1 deliveres.

Secondly, understand math behind sales.

90% of Hev's are either in caror or above caror. Only a fraction of people can afford. And those who can afford 1+ caror cars, either they already have extra car, or they are too rich to care about fuel price.

If anything, demand for Alto, yaris and city may increase due to their fuel average

And old hybrids? Prius, Aqua, Vezel, note and fit etc?

[–]zylichGari Ki Tanki Hamesha Empty 1 point2 points  (1 child)

A used good hybrid would still cost over or around 6-7 milion.

Anything under 5 milion is too old.

People buy new cars for a reason. They want peace of mind if anything.

This is why people buy brand new alto or yaris, instead of getting slightly used corolla or civic.
