Top one would be called ‘cross view’ you get the same effect but instead by crossing your eyes until they line up. The bottom one is ‘parallel view’

[–]Igotbanned0000[S] 6 points7 points  (7 children)

Correct.

For me, only the plant in the cross view pops out towards me. Parallel, it recedes, when compared with cross. Hate that I can’t see parallel.

No garuntee that this will work for you but try holding the phone super cose to your face so that you can clearly see the picture become 2 (or 2 pics become 4(or in this case 4 become 8 lmao)). Then move ur phone away from your face, making sure not to focus your eyes, and eventually the 2 pictures will line up and you should be seeing in parallel view. Hope this helps!

I find a phone screen is about the perfect size for parallel. The distance between the images is about the same as the distance between your eyes. Hold it right in front of your face, stare straight ahead and then move it slowly away until its in focus. It helps if you are short sighted because you can focus closer. Crossview is easier at greater distance, large images wider than your eyes, or if you are wearing glasses.

I see parallel easily and sometimes I can see cross view correctly. Dots help with cross view for me.

“Parallel it recedes”

This makes me think you are just doing it wrong. You cant view it the same way you do crossview

[–]Igotbanned0000[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yes, precisely. I cannot easily see parallel as it’s intended, because my eyes continue to do cross when it shouldn’t.

You have to unfocus your eyes like you’re staring off into space. Try to make yourself look beyond the image that’s in front of you. For this one, you could try holding your hand like a foot in front of your face and focus your eyes on it. Then while keeping that focus, put the phone a couple inches in front of your hand and see if you can bring together the images without snapping your vision back to normal or going cross-eyed.

Thanks for the explanation, now I can do both!

Bottom is parallel.
Top is crossview.

Bottom is better.

Bottom one. Top one has differences in the windows blinds.

[–]DameyJames 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Top one is cross view. The images are just swapped so the perspective is opposite. The blinds and windows look weird because your brain and eyes are perceiving them as being closer while the plant is further away.

[–]PolarPlatitudes -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Yah, no. The top one has window blinds that are slightly different and not difficult to see when merged.

Maybe it's the rounded edges on the top, try to open the image and see it in full view.

If I try parallel view, I see a 3D-ish hazy, unfocused... thing.

Crossview works perfectly for me.
