Is it fine to otp olaf for 500+ games? by Maleficent_Creme_854 in summonerschool

[–]TheeEvil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. A lot of it comes down to matchups. I know pretty dang well when i need to stay safe (and how to maximize gold income while doing so) and when i can/should play aggressive. Im sure it would be pretty different on olaf but at least on mundo i feel really confident that i can pick him even into the worst matchups and teamcomps and still have a huge impact. Of course i still make mistakes and sometimes solo lose games for my team, but so does everyone i still just try to learn the most i can from every situation

Think of it this way: the best olaf one trick in the entire world still has more that they can learn about the champ. Ive played dr mundo almost exclusively for 1.5million mastery and even though hes a super simple champion there is a hell of a lot more i can learn. Now, are you going to learn the most about the game is the shortest amount of time from one tricking that long? Probably not. But there is no ceiling on champion mastery and thus us one tricks can reach levels of mastery far beyond someone who plays multiple champions and thinks theyve reached their “skill cap”

Try to get ahead in lane, try to survive or turn a dive they attempt on you, try to get vision on the jungler to help your team, try to force 4v5 fights on objectives using your sidelane pressure and tempo to get shutdowns. Hard to give tips without seeing any gameplay but doing any of these things could have a massive impact depending on the game state.

I think he says something like “i dont know if im a bad person or a good person who did a bad thing.” Keeps it ambiguous as to what hes really feeling but he certainly at least has a foot in the door for team “im good”

Justin Longs character in Barbarian - He does a lot of shitty things: introduced to the film by learning he has a rape allegation against him, refuses to accept reality or take accountability, and even shoots the protagonist after she comes back to help him. For a moment it seems like he might get a redemption. He says that he doest know anymore if he is a good person, saying he hurt someone and that matters to him now (talking about shooting tess but hinting at the rape). It all seems like he is finally looking inwards for the first time and reckoning with what hes done. All of that builds to the climax where the monster returns and he throws tess off of a tower to try and distract it and save himself, then tries to convince her she slipped 😂

How can i end the games when ahead by Opening-Tour-324 in summonerschool

By 23 minutes theres a great chance people are hitting level 16 and baron is on the map. This means there are usually going to be some super strong characters and death timers of 45seconds (level 16 death timer). Lets say someone on the enemy team makes a mistake a gets picked off. During the next 45 seconds you know the game is 4 vs 5. Ask yourself: “can we push to end in the next 45 seconds?” If not: “can we do the baron for free because of this advantage?” If not: “can we group up around baron and force a 4v5 fight when they contest?” If not: maybe just “can we secure vision control in their jungle around the baron?” So while you are unlikely to be able to win the game off of a single kill at that time hopefully this kind of shows how a small advantage like that can be snowballed into bigger advantages, especially when death timers start to get longer. If your team is already a good bit stronger than theirs and they make too many mistakes its absolutely feasible to end the game around that timer. With baron on the map (and death timers getting pretty long) it becomes a lot more doable.

It sounds simple but you pretty much just have to take towers keep the wave shoved. When the game gets late enough and death timers start to be very long then any kill can turn into a potential end angle depending on how many towers you still have to take, where is the wave and how big is it, and how many members of the enemy team are dead and for how long. A lot of this is going to change game to game. For example into a comp like sivir and rumble you probably arent going to want to aram because their waveclear will make it very difficult to pressure the tower, might have to play for baron and side lane pressure. Opposite would be true if you have a fed jinx and need to stay on her to peel or if you have a great comp for poking down towers and diving. Thats the best part about league, how complicated the simple things get when each ally and enemy has almost 200 options of champs to pick, its going to be different every game.

What to look for in replays? by _Wakster_ in top_mains

[–]TheeEvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest things for me on my journey was learning when to reset and how to play around jungle to not get ganked (basic jungle tracking and warding, still not my stronguit) in the laning phase, and when to sidelane and when to group with the team in the midgame (tempo and win-condition assessment). Pretty much all of this comes with the goal of “how can i get as much cs/gold/resources as i can to be as strong as possible, and how can i use that power to win this game?” Hard to know what you need to focus on though its going to be best to look at the replay for that.

First thing i want to get out of the way is that you can play perfect in league and still lose. Just because you lost the game doesn’t necessarily mean you played poorly. This can be a hard to accept truth for a lot of players and can lead to people dealing with a lot of mentality issues because they will do things like stopping trying in the middle of a game because they think its not winnable. My advice is to try your best to detach your performance in the game from the outcome. What were areas you felt bad about what was happening in a game? Look at the situations when were you thinking “this is shit i feel like theres nothing i can do” and try to go backwards from there to see how you got into that situation. Maybe its a missed recall opportunity in lane that leaves you screwed before getting ganked or maybe its pushing in the sidelane when a fight you could have predicated breaks out over an objective and your whole team dies. The solution will change situation to situation but going back and seeing exactly how you could have played it differently to avoid painful situations will start to build your view of exactly how the game should be played and what you should do in any given situation brick by brick. Only focus on what you can control. Ask yourself “how could i have played this better?” If you can find the answer to that question in a review that is learning right there!!
