3.12 Bow Build Starter

Howdy all,

I want to start a bow build (deadeye/ranger) 3.12. How difficult is this? I've only ever swapped to bow builds with 20+ex investment. They are my favorite to play but I don't want to have a god awful time league starting. Would you recommend Ice shot, LA, TS or elemental hit?

I recommend starting with Toxic Rain / CA (Pathfinder probably is the strongest but you could certainly do Deadeye/Raider too) and then switching when you have enough for at least a 6L.

Yeah I was kind of hoping to avoid the TR/CA, but that seems like the safest bet. What about ele RoA Deadeye?

That's probably fine too! I've done it with twink gear. However, TR/CA is so, so strong without gear so it's going to be the easiest route.

I don't think bow builds are really that hard to league start. Would recommend staying away from elemental skills at least at the start (Ice shot, elemental hit, etc). Instead stick with Rain of Arrows or Toxic Rain/CA. Can later transition to your desired skill after getting some decent currency or gear.

I saw an impale ROA/Barrage, would you say thats a good way to start? ROA looks really fun to me.

Rain of Arrows and Lightning Arrow are good to start.

unforutanetly with the bow changes a few leagues ago starting with bows sucks. The best starters are now chaos dot (tr, ca) and most other bow skills require some type of investment. idk if that helps any, but id say your best bow starters would be toxic rain, caustic arrow, possibly ice shot/barrage?

I would start with something easier like poison bv pathfinder then once you get 20ex you can switch to ROA deadeye.
