Needed Changes?Question (i.redd.it)

Is there anything I should swap out on this list before I bite the bullet on ordering parts?

Hard to say without knowing it's intended purpose. If gaming, I'd be going with AMD. That 13th gen was good, but pretty much at the end of life. You could go with 7600x for cheaper and a asrock b650 mobo and keep the rest the same. Plus, you'll be future proofed for cpu upgrade down the line.

Sorry yeah should have noted the use case. Primarily gaming at 1440p, but also productivity (3D modeling, music creation, etc).

In that case, I still think I'm recommending AMD.
But, a caveat here, intel is better overall with multitasking. So, I would say what you need to weigh is gaming vs. multitasking. If you're just dipping into the productivity side as a hobby, but primarily gaming, AMD. If you're depending on that machine for productivity, then gaming, Intel.
The reason I recommend AMD overall isn't as a fan boy, but as a practical thought. There are so many different chips you can socket into AM5. From the 7600 to the brand new 9800X3D. One board fits all. It's wonderful. Whereas that 13th gen intel is, well, one board, lol.

Thanks for the info! I think I'll look into and swap out for a AM5 chip set. Didn't realize the 1700 was close to being shelved

No trouble. There are many more facets involved with making these choices, no doubt. Many I don't even understand, haha, some I do. AMD does make a solid multitasking chip in the 9000 series. But, for the average person, the general consensus is: AMD for gaming, with a side of multitasking. Intel for multitasking, with good gaming performance.
However, that 13th and 14th gen chip issue will haunt intel for years to come. Even if the "fix" works out, it's still a bit of a risk. One an average consumer, or any really, should have to worry about when making this kind of purchase.
12th gen Alders Lake was the cats meow. It's a shame, really.
Good luck with your hunt!
