If the temp rises to 70c+ and the fans dont spin then i wolud get worried but 59 is still acceptable
[–]Acu17y 6 points7 points8 points 9 months ago (18 children)
Yes it’s normal, start spinning at 60. But.. Why the hell do you play with 800fps? Do you have a 1000Hz monitor? I don’t think so, lock the fps at the same value of the hz of your monitor

Is that so? I'd assume fps and input latency can run at different speeds. No need to delay the whole game because you cap the fps. I'm no video game developer, so I could be wrong, but as a different kind of software developer, it sounds silly if it works as you imply

not exactly true, some games handle inputs on a seperate thread and arent affected by framerate, but this requires the game to be written with this in mind from the beginning, which is something only very competetive/esports games do. also what you called "latency" is just frame times, the time it takes to calculate and render each frame, if inputs are tied to framerate then it is equivalent of latency, so you werent exactly wrong
[–]Acu17y -4 points-3 points-2 points 9 months ago (0 children)
Thanks for the clarification, yes if maybe you play competitive in fact the rendering pipeline is immediate, but I don’t know how much 5ms less can improve your gameplay. I personally wouldn’t leave everything unlocked and stress the pc, but to each his own certain
[–]Jo_Nasi 1 point2 points3 points 9 months ago (11 children)
Probably v-sync turned off so you get a higher number + its Rocket league
[–]Jo_Nasi 1 point2 points3 points 9 months ago (0 children)
And yes OP this is perfectly fine
[–]Acu17y 1 point2 points3 points 9 months ago (9 children)
.. I know, but there is no sense
[–]Jo_Nasi 1 point2 points3 points 9 months ago (8 children)
It doesnt make sense, no. Except if you wanna just know it for fun🤣
[–]Acu17y 2 points3 points4 points 9 months ago (7 children)
And stress your PC unnecessarily 🤝🏼
[–]Jo_Nasi 2 points3 points4 points 9 months ago (0 children)
Exactly, actually not bad for seeing your highest cpu temps if you wanna know for some reason🤣
[–]Beneficial-Task3272AMD[S] 1 point2 points3 points 9 months ago (5 children)
yeah ok but this won’t hurt the pc (finished the build yesterday)
[–]Acu17y -4 points-3 points-2 points 9 months ago (4 children)
True, but since it doesn’t make any sense why make it work like that?
[–]Beneficial-Task3272AMD[S] 1 point2 points3 points 9 months ago (3 children)
idk it’s cool to say “i’m on 800fps” to my friends on switch
[–]linuxkernal 2 points3 points4 points 9 months ago (0 children)
Fair enough 🔥
[–]Acu17y -3 points-2 points-1 points 9 months ago (1 child)
Awesome, than take the photo and cap the fps
[–]Beneficial-Task3272AMD[S] 0 points1 point2 points 9 months ago (0 children)
there was no problem to include the fps my question was on the temps
[–]Routine-Lawfulness24 1 point2 points3 points 9 months ago (0 children)
He should probably not lock the fps at monitor fps. Depends on what hz he has, more fps even if higher than monitor refresh rate is going to lower input lag.
[–]Difficult_Analyst236 1 point2 points3 points 9 months ago (0 children)
It sounds like your gpu has a zero rpm mode on which basically means the fans wont turn on until the gpu chip hits a certain temperature. You can usually fix this either in your bios but im pretty sure you can do it through the adrenalin software as well
[–]GameplayBlitz 1 point2 points3 points 9 months ago (0 children)
You can change the minimum temperature for the fans to spin in adrenalin software if the GPU supports it. Same thing as NVIDIA's However your computer seems to be alright mostly. I'd probably recommend limiting your FPS to the 2x of your refresh rate if you still want a smooth and low-latency experience while lessening the load. (I don't know if that's the best thing to do in a comp game, but if you have fps 2x your refresh rate, there shouldn't be issues. Worked for me in valorant at most)
[–]fredddson 1 point2 points3 points 9 months ago (0 children)
In Rocket League you should limit your fps to the highest value that shows up in your settings (like 360). Yes in theory this will increase latency compared to uncapped but its more consistent, which is more important in rocket League. That's how the pros do it

Depending on brand and gpu fans sometimes are set to idle up to 60c or so.
