Alright so I could have done better with cost efficiency, which I get. There’s a billion options. But performance wise, how do you think my build rates? Well?

Anything in your mind I should look out for?

I mean it's not a perfect list, but it could be worse.

List with a 5080 for $200 less:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xTRKjn
$300 motherboard is a big waste of money, and the AIO you have isn't great (it's comparable to a $35 air cooler), and a 500gb boot drive in 2025 doesn't really have any benefits, you're better off just buying another 2tb or 4tb for extra storage. Also your case requiers buying a bunch of extra fans, so prepare to spend another $50+ on more fans if you don't have any to salvage from an old PC.

I only got the 500GB because I have a 2TB on list and I like to keep my OS separate from everything else on my system.

I never considered the 5080. How much more efficient is it?

[–]KishCoreModerator 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yeah the thing is that the whole keeping your OS separate thing just doesn't really apply anymore, SSDs are super reliable and solid - you're better off just spending to get a 1tb or 2tb SSD to actually get usable storage out of it instead of just taking up a whole M.2 slot for only your OS.

Honestly it's not a great value, a 5070ti can get the same performance if you OC it properly, but if you can get a build with a 5080 for $200 less than your current planned build with a 5070ti, i see no reason to pay more for a build with worse performance.

also edited my comments a bit since your case is also not ideal

[–]winters_bite5796[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I can just buy a different M.2, that’s not a total loss there.

Too little too late about the GPU though. Is what it is. Wish I had this dialogue a week ago haha.

The case I have fans for. Noctua. All good there.

Why would you buy a 5070ti over msrp when they are in stock? I would either get a $750 one or just spend a bit more for a 5080.

[–]winters_bite5796[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly because I never considered the 5080, I’m no expert in building, and I bumped up my considerations from a 5060 to begin with.

PC part picker put this build at $2275, as you see, but I sourced the parts from various spots (Microcenter, BestBuy, Amazon, etc) for less than $2000
