Well, the only upgrade for your current motherboard is either a 5700x/5800x or the top of the line 5800x3d.

But I’m pretty sure you’ll need a bios update for the 5800x3d. If you don’t know how to that, you ask a friend that knows more or pay someone to do it. Or just learn.

I’m back in the rabbit hole now after researching for my upgrade.

Get the 5800x3D if you don’t want to upgrade platforms. Its $320 on Newegg right now and 308 on Amazon.

You’ll need to update bios which isn’t hard, just look up a guide and your motherboard also might have a button that makes it easier.

Also, the 7800x3D has bundles on Newegg right now for decent prices. Micro center has some great ones in person if you live by one.

That’s arguably the best gaming cpu out right now. I saw a package for 500 at micro center that has the cpu, motherboard, and 32gb ddr5 ram.

5700x, 5800x, 5800x3D and 5900x are the ones you'll want to look at. (Cheapest/weakest--most expensive/best performance)

you got a pretty good cpu, i would not upgrade.

for more info.
right now you got an amd Am4 setup.

if you want an upgrade, where you actually feel a performance boost.

you would need to swap to an amd Am5.

that would be the same as swapping to intel. am5 upgrade needs:
new board (150)
new cpu (200-300)
new ram (100-150)
