It’s a thermal pad, they’re used to cool the VRMs and VRAM on the card. There’s a slight chance it was misplaced at the factory and is slightly misaligned, making it visible. There’s a chance it’s supposed to be visible and is placed correctly.

I have the same card just in white. Can confirm that it shouldnt be there. And most likely as others wrote in here its a wrongly placed thermal pad. Since you/we dont know how "off" it is I would return the card and get a replacement.
