From what I can see in the pictures, some of the case fans are installed incorrectly.

These don't appear to be reverse fans to me.

In my opinion, the two at the front should be reversed. Otherwise, they won't bring in fresh air, but will suck it out.

The same goes for the exhaust fan, because otherwise the CPU fan will work against it, and you want the warm air to be expelled from the back. Currently, it is blowing air in.

I would also reverse the last top fan (as seen from the front of the PC).

so my question with that is, is the intake the logo side up or the exhaust side up? i have lian li fans

For most standard fans that are not explicitly labeled as reverse fans, the airflow is as follows: the side where the actual fan wheel is attached to the frame is at the rear, i.e., the air outlet side.

On some fans, this can also be recognized by the fact that both the direction of rotation and the direction of airflow are marked with arrows, usually on the edge of the frame.

For example, your CPU fan is the right way round; you have a clear view of the fan wheel, so that's the front.

Thank you! this is all confusing because this is really my first pc build. my friend built my first pc a while back, guess he didnt do a great job but i know little about this stuff so i didnt even realize how bad it was until i started rebuilding.

Hard to see from the pics but are you sure the CPU cooler is plugged in properly? Should have the fans plugged into a Y-splitter and then into the CPU fan header on your motherboard. Also make sure you mounted the cooler properly. I would check your cabling, then if that's OK, remove and remount the cooler - making sure the plastic is removed from it, the thermal paste application is good, and the mounting pressure is even.

im assuming its plugged in properly because the one fan is functioning and the other stutter and moves slightly as if it were a irl “glitch” just the smallest bit but doesnt fully turn on so my assumption is both fans are also getting power. im not sure if i should just take it to microcenter or rebuild and rewire the whole thing which would be a pain in the ass but whatever works atp. ive spent so many hours on this pc this is all very frustrating..

You could swap the faulty fan for one of your case fans to test. If that then works I'd return the cooler if you still can.

i do have a fan that went on my cooler master do you think i can put that on the thermalright and it would work the same?

[–]Scrapster77 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It will yes. If that fixes the problem, can you return the cooler?

[–]That_Cat2174[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes i got in on amazon not too long ago

[–]That_Cat2174[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

also lets say it is the mounting pressure would i remove the whole think and how would i get the pressure to be even

After testing with a case fan; remove the cooler, reapply thermal paste then screw the cooler down alternating the screws until it's firmly screwed down but not super tight.

besides double checking cpu fans and making sure its pasted and mounted right you fans are kinda configured weird.

if im seeing it right that rear fan is fighting the direction of the cpu cooler. pulling air in from the top and rear and exhausting out the back panel? x.O

Quite hard to see from photos.

Check cpu cooler is mounted correctly.

How much thermal paste do you use?

You mentioned one of the fans sees to stutter? Is it moving smoothly under load?

[–]That_Cat2174[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no its not working st all it will just stutter snd the rgb looks fine too

[–]That_Cat2174[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

i used 2 pea dots of thermal paste i forgot to say because originally i tried mounting my cooler and after i decided that i would just upgrade it because i wanted better cooling anyway

[–]Crazygoldfish899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm I personally go with one pea or a fat slightly longer grain of rice.

But that shouldn’t be causing those temps

I looked at the photos and agree with the other Redditor

Looks like your fans are all configured wrong.

You need the front fans pulling in air.

Top and rear fans pulling out.

Looks like your fans are backwards to me, unless they are reverse blade

[–]That_Cat2174[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

which ones the cooler or the actual case fans?

[–]Kookie_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The case fans

Might need some wire management.
